The man with white shirt, sleeves rolled up to his arms asked Lia.
"What are you doing here? Who are you?"
Lia's mind have gone through so much process that it was a bit lagged.
'Ehem, someone literally did that.'
She stood up and folded the creases on her black pencil skirt and introduced herself.
"I am Julia Campbell. I came here for an interview."
She introduced herself modestly looking for any clues in the man's face.
A man with black hair and dark green eyes. Mixed features, lean and tall. And exudes an aura children with high upbringing would have.
'If I'm not wrong, he is..."
"We haven't posted up a notice yet."
His gaze turned slightly cold still not believing the words spoken by the unknown woman who entered his office unknowingly.
While the man spoke, Julia took out the sticky note and the business card Ivy gave her last. She did so as if she already know what the man was going to say.
She walked over and gave it to the man.
The man with white sleeves scrunched up his eyebrows but still received the sticky note and the business card.
Lia then explained.
"Last week Ms. -"
'Oh, I was supposed to not know Ivy's name yet, I didn't ask her'
Lia continued after pausing a bit, acting as if she forgot the name.
"Ms. Annie and her boss gave this to me in this office."
Her acting was so smooth it seemed natural.
The man with white sleeves did indeed notice that it was Ivy's handwriting and the business card indeed belong to the agency. And so he walked over his desk and called someone.
"Ivy, did you arrange an interview today?"
He asked the person on the phone and was a little bit angry at the person.
Lia waited for a while before the phone call ended.
The man looked over Lia after he finished the call and introduced himself.
"I am Daniel Lu. The CEO of this company."
'Ah so it was indeed him. I'm lucky I got to be one of the people who knows his face and identity.'
On the inside Lia was delighted but since she's in her acting mode she looks neutral on the outside.
"My assistant seemed to have something going on outside the city together with Annie. So you'll have to cope up with me interviewing you." Daniel said this while grabbing some folder on his table.
"Follow me." He said while walking towards a room outside.
'Uh-oh I was prepared for Ivy but not this man.' But without having much choice, Lia followed after Daniel.
While walking Lia took out her requirements and placed them in an order so that there won't be much hassle when they are in the room.
Daniel sat on the chair behind the long table inside the room.
Lia then walked over and submitted her requirements and files in front of Daniel.
He accepted it without looking at her.
'He still is in a bad mood huh.' Lia then proceeded to sit in a chair in the middle.
At first Daniel was irked that his assistant forgot the appointment she set up and also didn't told him. But in the end, it can't be helped since his assistant, Ivy was already very busy at the beginning.
When he first looked at the woman, he thought he must be here for interview as an actress. But after Ivy explained to him, he was wrong, the woman wanted to be a manager.
And in this room he was quite surprised the girl was very smart and has a background with some well known agency. But he frowned a little when he found out, she worked there as an assistant.
It took him a while to review the papers. And he finally asked the first question.
"Why did you come into this agency?"
'Ah, direct to the point. After knowing my credentials, he found it boring to ask some typical interview questions, huh?'
"I think this agency would be a good start for me and besides I don't have a job right now."
Lia answered rather truthfully because she has that much trust on her credentials shown on those papers.
Daniel looked at her seemingly scrutinizing her every movement and expressions.
"Did you really want to be a manager?" The man put down those papers. He leaned back to the chair put his hands in front of his chest.
He didn't believe this girl would just be a manager. That occupation won't be perfectly suited for her. It was too little from her potential.
Lia raised her brows quite intrigued with this question.
A slight smile hung on her pink lips.
"What if I don't?"
She said it without reserve. 'I think he quite saw through me. He wasn't a CEO of the leading agency in the future for nothing.'
"Then, why didn't you audition for the job you wanted?"
He said it looking at Lia's eyes directly.
Lia got a little shiver from the stare.
'He really saw through me.'
Lia then took off that smile on her face and replaced it with her usual devilish smirk.
"It's not the right time yet."
Daniel was kind of surprised at this woman's answer. He thought to himself for a while and nodded.
"Congratulations, you are hired."
He said while standing up.
Lia was also quite lagged from a bit of surprise.
'That's it?!'
She stood up and thanked her now 'CEO'.
"My secretary Ivy Chen will text you the details."
Daniel was about to leave the room when he followed up.
"Oh, and you can't leak my identity outside otherwise-"
Daniel looked back to her with a very cold stare and afterwards smiled.
He then left the room.
Lia was alone in the room. And she got shivers from that smile and stare.
'What a dangerous man. Now I could really feel what it feels like to receive those 'cold stares' in the novel. It was really no joke.'
Good thing Lia is a strong headed woman or else any flowery weak woman would have staggered to the floor with that heart pounding cold stare.
From that day on, no one knew why the mysterious CEO of the famous Twilight Agency accepted Julia. No one also know how he knew Julia would be a big shot in the future.
Hahahaha don't get the wrong idea peeps.
