Kapitel 14: Chapter 12 First Holder VII - What Binds Us Together

Stars filled up the night sky as the moon was starting to rise. The wedding was being held in the middle of the forest, the forest that they first met. The villagers had regrown the forest years before, it was the idea of Aki but instead of planting the old kind of trees, they've decided to plant Sakura trees. Wooden logs were used for the people to seat. Of course since it's a special wedding, they've carved the woods as beautiful as it can be. In the front was a sakura tree, it was the first tree they've planted. Lanterns illuminating blue light can be seen around the venue, providing sufficient light source and making it have that otherworldly atmosphere. It seems that Aki used her powers to make that blue touch on the lanterns.

The preparations were already completed, it didn't took them long for them to go into the forest. Though it seems some people were a bit late..

"Brother, it's time to go now why are you still in your room? The others are already in the forest!" Kirumi was knocking on his room but there was only silence to be heard.

"Kaito?" she whispered his name but still there was only complete silence. That's when she realized something wrong. She started panicking then continuously knocked to the door. "Kaito! Kaito?! Brother?!??!" she shouted his name hoping for a response but again, there was none. She remembered something about what he said yesterday, it was pretty odd now that she remembered it actually. He told her that he had a spare key for his room under the table, she asked why he told her but he only smiled at her. Realizing that it might be about this, she hoped that it's not what she was thinking. She immediately went to the table and grabbed the key below then used it to unlock his door.

The moment she opened it, she stood in silence as there was just one sound that can be heard in the room, it was the sound of the creaking rope tied onto the ceiling.

People were already had sat down to the logs they've prepared. Aki, who was in the back, was already in a beautiful gown filled with crystal smithereens attached into it. The crystals was reflecting the light from the lanterns making it look like it's glowing. Her veil was gracefully flowed down to her dress until to the ground. All eyes were set at her, left in awe by how beautiful she really is after all these years, her beauty doesn't seem to fade.

Everything was in steady motion and it was time for the wedding to start. She looked at the people sitting, everyone was pretty much there except for Kaito, she looked at everyone sitting but still, he was nowhere to be found, though there was Kirumi sitting in the middle. She didn't noticed that it was her before because her head was bowed down.

The bell has rung, signalling the start of the wedding. Aki had started walking towards, slowly but gracefully as she smiled at Harui. Finally, her dreams were going to come true, the feeling of having someone by your side when you wake up, holding you tight. She was looking at the man who will do all that for her. Stopping as she came at the front, the village priest have said some words for them and let them have a kiss. The moment they have kissed each other people were clapping joyously as they stand up and cheered for them. "I love you" both of them told to each other as Harui picked Aki up. She was surprised and felt embarrassed as the people surrounded them while throwing flowers again.

"I will always love you Harui, forever and ever" She said as she smiled at his face. She was staring at his face the whole time, he was looking at her with his charming eyes and a bright smile.. until it changed. His eyes widened as his arms weakened losing Aki from his arms. Aki brushed off her dress due to the dirt stains but there wasn't only just dirt, there was blood. She immediately took her attention of her dress instead put it on Harui laying down on the ground. There was a knife stucked on his back, the people screamed causing a huge ruckus but Aki paid no attention to them. For her, Harui's condition was the most important during that time.

"Harui?! Harui?!!!??" she desperately called his name as she went near him. "A-aki?" he whispered. "Harui?! Please keep hanging on!! I-ill save you!!" she used her powers to heal him but nothing was happening, the powers of the seimei umbrella are limited to the holder only. "A-aki, I-im sorry b-but I think my family is already waiting.." he was starting to lose his consciousness as she felt the soul inside was leaving, she made a desperate decision. "I WON'T LET YOU LEAVE ME!!!!" a blade came out from the tip of the umbrella then cut a vein in his neck. With her hands responsible for his death, his soul was sucked into the umbrella. She saw his soul was purely white and as it was being sucked into the umbrella, she noticed his face, his eyes was close shut but there tears coming out of it. Her dreams were immdeiately crushed in just a short time, this day was supposed to be the start of a new journey together but instead, it became the day when they will part ways.

She continued shouting and shouting his name after. The villagers were all looking at her with pity, not Kirumi though. Im just giving back the favor, she said to herself. You're the reason why my brother is dead!! I won't let you be happy!!! she was full in rage, no one may not hear her inner thought but her face just says it all. No one still noticed her since all of them were focused at Aki. Her voice the only sound that was echoing in the forest until the screams of the villagers replaced it.

Aki's emotions was unstable, her beautiful silver hair suddenly turned into pure black. The dress she was wearing turned into crimson red as well as her veil. The crystals became dark, no longer reflecting any light. She stood up then there was silence, everyone was afraid to come near her except for the village priest.

"A-aki my dear, please cal-" he didnt got to finish what he was saying as her umbrella pierced his chest. "Aarrggghhhh!!" he shouted in pain. It was followed by the villagers screaming as they ran away from her but she didn't let them escape. Her umbrella spinned everywhere, leaving no one behind. It became red due to the splashes of blood as it cut their bodies. Aki was just standing in the middle while her umbrella did the work. Someone threw a lantern at her, burning her dress but she stood still. She wasn't feeling anything any more. The umbrella had smashed the lanterns leaving the fire on the ground then sooner it reached the trees burning everything once again. Kirumi was running away but when she looked back she saw the umbrella towards her. This.. This is it. Im sorry brother, I ruined everything, she already gave up on living. She closed her eyes as the umbrella was going to hit her but it didn't. Looked back again and was surprised by what she saw. It was a spirit.. and it resembled Harui. She was crying on the ground begging for forgiveness but the spirit had said nothing, it only moved his mouth. From what she understood based from it's mouth movement, it said "Live on". Quickly dashing away from the scene as she saw the spirit disappeared from her sight. The umbrella didn't follow her anymore, safely escaping from the forest in one piece.

The forest was already getting burned down as countless corpses was lying everywhere. Aki sat down beside Harui then kissed him on the lips. "I love you" was her last words as the flames burned them both.

Hours have passed since the fire went down, only a few people survived and one of them was Kirumi. She sneaked into the forest when no one was looking, it took a while locating where it was but the burned corpses made it easier where it was. Covering her nose with a wet clothe, she finally arrived at the scene. She went in the middle where the bodies of Aki and Harui lies, if it wasn't for their location when she last saw them, she wouldn't even recognize them. Aki's body was crisped by the fire with some clothe left from her dress. She was lying beside Harui, she was still holding his hand. She kneed down to the ground, realizing her evil mistakes. Crying as she held her body begging for forgiveness but she knew there was no helping to it. What's done has been done, the only way to do is move forward. As she was going back to the village, she saw the umbrella, but it was different from before. It was pure white without any blood stains, she took a closer look and touched it. She felt something entering her body making her panick and throw the umbrella. A quick memory lane of Aki's came into her mind as the new holder will have the memories of the past ones. She was now the new holder of the Seimei Umbrella.

"Why did it had such a bad ending?" tears were noticeable in Angela's eyes.

"Well that's life, happy endings only happen in fantasies" Kagura told her.

"Well then, what happened next?" She was still curious about the story.

"Well, she became the village chief and can now wield the power of the Seimei umbrella but she didn't though. She locked the umbrella away from the everyone to avoid anything bad again" she said.

"Huh? But you have the umbrella right? Did your village stole it?" Angela was still curious.

"No you dummy! Why would we steal it if the one who find it came from our village?!" she pinched her cheeks a little.

"Huh, you mean!?" she was surprised by what she said.

"Yes, Kirumi.. was one of my great great grandmothers"
