Kapitel 1: Prologue
Amaris' mother, Kalilah, was the King's favorite… taken away from her homeland to serve the King of Timpeall, Cyrus Lyon. Upon laying eyes on Kalilah for the first time. He immediately sought to make her one of his many concubines. As time passed on, she became pregnant with her first child, Amaris, which brought them newfound joy within Kalilah and Cyrus' lives. Once Amaris was born, Cyrus promoted Kalilah to a higher position within the harem. His devotion and love never wavered from Kalilah, even more so as she continued to give birth to many more children of the King.
This caused Amaris to become one of the many that Cyrus had fallen in love with. She was no longer the favorite child. Her brother, born nearly a year after she was, had the charm of both their parents. Soon leaving Amaris out of their father's love and affection. In the beginning, Amaris was heartbroken, but as time went by... she understood. Her brother was her father's firstborn son and was the kingdom's ruler after their father's passing.
He needed specific attention that she did not. Soon she realized that she was just a female—a daughter. A pawn to be used so he may acquire power and wealth. Amaris no longer heard from her father as her mother bore more of his children. She never heard from anyone except for her mother, who still loved and cherished her.
But she soon became the forgotten daughter of the King... until the day of her 18th birthday.
