Kapitel 3: I came to keep you company
Naruto laughed and soon the scenery changed into a vast grassland with a clear sky. Nine tails caged in a giant prison box. A wave of fresh air brushed against soft fur of Nine-tails as he was caught off guard and gave out of a pleasant smile.
"You what did you do?" Soon the smile vanished as fox bared its fang again and asked the little kid.
"I thought you'd like a change of scenery. So what'd you think? I can change it into a vast forest if you like." Naruto replied as he lied in the ground and enjoyed the gentle breeze.
"How did you do it? What sorcery is this?" The fox asked again but his anger was slowly subsiding and before he knew it violent conversation slowly turned into a neutral one.
"This place is my mindscape. A place where we communicate and its only natural I get to pick the background." Naruto replied again.
"So what are you here for? Nevermind, I know what you've come for as many others before you have come to face me as well. All they want is the power I possess. And I'll let to use some for giving me a change of scenery." The fox replied and sat back down while closing his eyes.
Even though he didn't like humans, it was nice to come out from the dark sewer and enjoy the breeze.
"I won't lie. I do want your power but I came to keep you company aside from that."
"Keep me company. Pfft. Is this your new approach. Did your elder teach you how to seduce me? Do they think they can use a child since their elder failed to use me? If so you, pass my message to them word by word. This Demon Lord Nine-tails says that they can suck on all of mine nine tails" The fox said in an arrogant tone.
"Pfft. Ahahahahah" Naruto started to laugh as he heard the fox. Clutching his belly he started to roll around in the ground.
"Suck on all of my nine tails, Ahahaha" Naruto repeated in the tone of the fox and again exploded in laughter.
"What, do you think this is funny human scum?" Fox said in an irritated tone.
"Yes, absolutely" Naruto replied with tears in his eyes.
"Man, I thought I ran out of tears after yesterday but it seems I was wrong," Naruto said to himself and looked at the fox.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki. I'd like to be your friend." Naruto said as he looked at the giant's eyes.
"Friend, I don't need no friend."
"Oh come on, how about your name then. Calling you nine-tails is a bit lame."
"I don't have a name."
"Oh, how about I give you a name. How about Furball, no Orange Foxy. Puppy. I'll call you Puppy"
"WHAT PUPPY? Do think I'm a dog human scum. This lord's name is Kurama. Okay KU RA MA"
"Ok Puppy. I got your name."
"I said its KURAMAAAAAAAAA"
"Okay okay. I got it. Sheesh. Kurama is it. I'll talk to you tomorrow. And I'll use you little chakra as I wish since you gave it to me so don't complain and don't hold back either." Naruto said with a smile and disappeared from the grasslands.
"Che, Human's and their tricks." Kurama closed his eyes and continued his sleep. A gentle smile in his face as he enjoyed the light breeze.
Opening his back at the Hokage monument Naruto smiled as his conversation with Kurama went better than he expected.
Friendship couldn't be developed within a day so he wanted to bug Kurama daily before they could turn into a proper friends do the nine-tailed transformation before the Fourth Great Ninja War. But being the independent man from his previous world Naruto didn't really want to rely on Kurama for power.
Kurama was just a backup. He wanted to be a powerhouse on his own. Since he was not the real Naruto but Sean, he didn't even think about reliving as Naruto like in the series. The body was of Naruto but the mind was different.
He had his own thoughts and dreams and he would walk the path even if things go south, it would be his choice and his responsibility. But knowing the major plots of the series, Naruto had enough time to prepare for it. The original Naruto only trained for about 3-4 years before he fought the Ninja war and prevailed.
(He was around 13 when he became a genin and he only had shadow clone in his arsenal. His real training began afterward so it's safe to say he only trained for about 3-4 years. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. But who cares. I'm the author here and whatever I say is true.)
Naruto was currently 6 years old and was he would join the academy when he'd reach 8 years of age. So he had 2 years worth of time self-training and think about his life goals.
He didn't know any jutsu and he didn't any jutsu from the anime besides Rasengan as it was the only one which didn't require hand signs. He remembered doing hand signs for the fireball technique and almost broke his fingers.
"Well, Rasengan it is then." Naruto thought about doing physical training and Rasengan for the 2 years and do more training after joining the academy. It would be great if he could find a master to teach him before he joined the academy but doing everything in haste was never a proper solution.
"Hm, Kurama might know some got techniques but I doubt he'll teach me." Naruto pondered for a while and decided to stick to basics and moved from the Hokage monument and ran deeper into the forest.
After Naruto ran from the mountain, a shadow flashed by chasing after him while.
"Did the kids went overboard with yesterday's incident. I think they made few screws loose with that punch. Ah, the Third Hokage sure is harsh." The Anbu with cat mask thought to herself as her dark light purple hair flew in the air as she followed Naruto.
She was tasked to follow Naruto from the shadow and protect him but only if he was attacked by Shinobi from another village. She ordered not to interfere with what the villagers did to him. While she looked at him as the demon like the rest of the village she slowly changed her view as she had followed Naruto from the shadows for a whole year now.
All she saw now was a kid who lost everything without knowing it and everyone in the village blamed him for the crimes he didn't commit. Cursed him for a demon who he was not and made him an outcast.
Neko knew all of this was done to break Naruto and make him a weapon when he grew up but Neko didn't take it well even though she accepted it before taking the mission. Well, the mission was pushed to her as babysitting a troublesome kid was boring she grew close to Naruto without even knowing and she kept extending the time frame of this babysitting mission from month to months and now a full year had passed.
The Third Hokage accepted gleefully as nobody wanted to take this mission and Neko was now in charge of looking after Naruto as long as she wanted. But she had to do it from the shadows of course. Physical Contact was prohibited.
