"I have been used and thrown out once already. This is not my way to live, I shall live and control my own life and the path I shall take is my own."

This is the life of a man that got used and thrown out by his superiors, after having many experiments and surgeries done to him in his past life. Which ended prematurely, by being sent on a suicide mission.
In this new life, that was given to him. He shall dig up a new path for himself, the path that is only his own. This path is the culmination of both magic and science.
