Kapitel 6: Companion
"What do you mean?" Someone found me? Was I abandoned?
"Stop saying nonsense. You didn't find her and you know that!" Ren was getting tense. I can see and feel it.
I put down the daggers and walked towards him. Reaching my hand out, I put my hands on his shoulders.
"Calm down. He's provoking you." Ren looked at me and relaxed. I squeezed his hand and he returned it as well.
"I don't know who you are but you better leave before I bite you." The stranger laughed at my comment.
"Love, you can never bite me." With a snap of his fingers, we were surrounded. It was the same men who were chasing us. But this time, they seem more buff and had weapons much more dangerous than the last.
"Now, lets see how well you bite love." Just like that, he disappeared and left us facing his pawns.
I got into my ready stance when a huge blast of wind whipped my hair around. I looked behind me and the wind dissipated. Ren was in his second form. To be honest, everytime he does that, I get mesmerized. As soon ad I got distracted, a few men swinged their weapons at me in hopes of getting me injured. But, what they didn't know that was downfall. I immediately ducked and swung my leg which knoked them off their feet. Without a second to waste, I slashed their throats in one swift swing. After seeing what I had done, the pawns on my side were hesitating.
I felt a rush of urge that wanted to go berserk and kill anyone in my sight. Trying to resist it, the enemies took the chance and two held me down. A third was just about to swing its sword at me when giant shadow claws impaled the men. Their grips on my shoulders loosed and I slided out of their hands. While sliding, I sliced their calves that made them cripple to the ground clutching their leg. I jumped and sinked my daggers into their neck finishing them off.
I checked to see if Ren finished and felt a chill going down my spine. Ren was ruthless, his arms were covered in black scales and his fingers now claws looked like it can tear a forest with just one swing. He was ripping them apart and seemed to enjoy it. Watching it made me feel nauseous. I couldn't stand flesh being ripped apart. My legs collapsed and felt a hard arm catching me in time. I looked up and saw it was Ren. He was all bloodied. I couldn't help but shiver after what I had just witnessed. Ren must have noticed and his body hardened. He picked me up and placed me next to a tree. I clutched his arm hoping he wouldn't leave but he gently removed my hand and and stepped backwards into the darkness, vanishing.
I fell asleep not knowing if Ren ever came back. Waking up, I saw that Ren didn't return still. Sitting up, I was really sore. Man what happened to my body to be this sore. Night had fallen and I was alone once again.
"Great." I mutter under my breath. Standing up, I started walking. I didn't know where to go. But I had to keep going because who knows whats going to happen if I stayed there. This was no ordinary forest. There are mythical creatures that were thought to not exist anymore and they come out during night.
I heard something whimper in the distance. It sounded hurt but I should be careful since it could be a trap. Sneaking around in the bushes, I reached the source. It was lying on the ground and it was bleeding. It was rather big and its fur was white like a cloud with a outline dark blue like the deep sea. Its eyes had a emerald color to it and on its forhead there was a symbol in the color of light blue.
Approaching it, the creature knew I was there and started growling. It was afraid but I sooth the creature and reached out my hand in front of the animal. It tried to bite my hand off. Taking my hand back, I decided to sit there thinking the animal might trust me eventually. After a while, I can see that the animal's condition was getting worse. I knew I had to help heal the wound quickly. I reached around and moved the fur that was covering the wound. The animal started growling but dismissed it since it was weak now.
There was a big gash running down its belly and was bleeding badly. I didn't know what to do for the poor animal. Then the markings on my hand started to glow and the wound started healing. I gasped, I never knew I could do this. Then the glowing stopped and the wound that was there disappeared like it was never there. I heard the animal snoring and was getting tired myself. I fell asleep against the animal feeling comfortable.
The next morning, something wet kept pressing on my face. Squirming around, I opened my eyes to see that it was a giant nose of the creature. I yelped thinking it was going to eat me when it just lay down on top of me.
"I won't hurt you. You have save my life and in return I will be your companion." It was a voice and seems like the animal just used telepathy.
"You can speak?!" The animal just looked at me in offense and replied with, "Yes, but only you can hear it since I haave formed a contract with you."
"A contract?! When?" The animal sighed shaking its head.
"Don't you know. When you healed me, there was blood and used the chance to form a contract."
Oh was the only thing I can say. Getting up, I asked what kind of animal it was. Apparently it was a divine beast of this forest. I gaped my mouth open and decided to respect the divine beast. While walking, I decided to name it shinha and it seems like she likes it since her tail was wagging at the name. It took a while but we were finally out of the forest. And I saw a familiar figure leaning againt a tree on the edge of the forest. It was Ren. I didn't know what to say until shinha started growling and It was growling at Ren. Confused I asked what is she doing?
"He's a dark and dangerous creature. Be careful since he was the one who had made me in that state you just saw me in." Her voice was on edge.
Looking at Ren, I decided to ignore him and walked right past him. He grabbed my arm and forced me to turn around to face him. I glared at him but shinha interfered making his hands let go of me.
He looked suprised. "Zero...sorry I haven't been with you for the past day."
Sorry? Thats all he had to say?! I was furious. "Your sorry?! Thats all you had to say?! You abandoned me in this freaking forest full of things I don't even know about! And thanks to you I'm in a situation where a wierd man wants to kill me and apparently you are involved in everything that has happened to me! And you should also explain who on earth are you!"
I poured out all my anger I had pent on for the couple of days that things had happened to me. Ren seemed to be frozen in place and didn't seem to want to answer my questions. Huffing out a breath, I started leaving him behind when he called out my name. I turned around and crossed my arms.
"I'll answer all your questions. But just don't turn around and walk towards me very carefully."
Why on earth is he saying that. If he tells me that I shouldn't turn around, I'm going to. I noticed that Shinha was double the size before and looked ready to fight. Then I saw a large shadow looming over me. It was a giant freaking python.
"What the actual fuck." I shouldn't have said that because the giant snake reacted to the sound and opened its mouth to reveal a set of giant fangs dripping in a purple liquid that seems to be acid.
