Kapitel 5: Am I human?
Is this really me? Touching my face, I explored my features, my nose was slimmer and my jaw was a bit more sharper than before. While I was busy looking at my reflection in the lake, Ren moved to my side. When I finally noticed he was right next to me I asked him, "Did you know this would happen?"
"Yes..." His reply was not shocking. I didn't even know who I was anymore.
After a few moment passed, I stood up and placed the mask on again.
"Let's move before reinforcements come." We then started walking deeper into the woods.
We walked for a while before we decided to make camp since the sun was setting. While I was sitting down, I didn't noticed that there were two daggers behind my boots. Taking them out, I put my fingers on the tip of the dagger. It was pretty sharp as it cutted my finger. Then I moved on to the shape and the design. On the hilt of both of the daggers, there was a symbol outlined with white while the rest of it was black. The shape was slim but the blade kinda curved a little towards the top.
"I'll take first watch and if you don't mind can I teach you how to use your blades?" he asked with caution.
"Sure. I could use some training, thanks." He smiled at my reply and jumped up into the tree disappearing from my sight.
Well, I geuss this will be my first time sleeping outside. Getting comfortable, my eyes slowly closed and the darkness wrapping me in its embrace.
I felt a nudge on my arm and someone calling my name. Responding to my name, I woke up. Morning had arrived and it seems Ren took both of the watch. Feeling guilty, I told him that I would take both watch next time. He chuckled and replied with, "No, its okay. Besides I don't really sleep during the night." He winked at me and told me to hurry up.
Rushing up at him, I pushed him playfully and pretended nothing happened at all. He laughed and grabbed me and put his arm around my shoulder.
This was nice I thought. I hope nothing bad happens today since everything was going pretty well. Afternoon came and this is the start of my training session.
I charged up to him and moved my daggers horizontally, but I only cutted the air. I looked around to see where he went but he just disappeared. Then in a second, I felt his hand wrapped around my neck and I quickly duck and roll. Standing up, I saw his face looking a bit suprised. Smirking, I threw my dagger at him and when he went to deflect it, I took the chance to run up to him and try to slice him. I was one second late and he twisted me into his arms and brought my dagger to my neck.
"Good tricks but not enough to trick me." He chuckled and released me. Throwing back my dagger I caught it.
"Thanks but next time I'll get you." He gave me the try me look and proceeded to train me throughout the day.
"Okay. That's enough for the day." I was sweating hard and took deep breaths. Hoping Ren was also in the same state as I was, I looked over and to my suprised it was as if Ren hardly broke a sweat during the training session. I gave him a quick glare when he turned around to pick up my fallen dagger that he deflected last moment. When he turned around, he walked up to me, inspected it, and gave it back. Taking it, I slid both my daggers back into my boots.
Walking back, I suddenly thought that I haven't been able to take wash myself properly lately. So I turned back and ran.
"Where are you going Zero?!" Ren shouted at me and I replied with, "Going to wash myself, I'll be right back!" I looked back my shoulder and saw Ren's figure just standing there looking at my direction. I geuss he's just gonna wait there until I finish.
Upon arriving, I slipped out of clothes and boots, but I kept my daggers close to me just in case something bad happens. Dipping on my toes to check the temperature and found that it was lukewarm. I dropped into the lake and floated on top for a while. Then I swam deeper into the lake. I saw tons of sea plants and sea animals. It was interesting, there was a pink plant, a little orange fish, and lily pads floating on the top. After a while, I sighed. I knew I had to get back since the night was rising soon. Getting up, I got dressed and headed back. But, when I got neat our campsite, Ren was gone. There was no trace of him. Panicking, I honed into the aounds around me to see if something happened or if there is any unnatural movements. Without me noticing, a hand planted onto my mouth. Instinctively, I used my elbow to push him back and threw my head back onto the stranger. But then I heard a yelp and I knew the voice. It was Ren. Calming myself down, I saw him step out of the shadows. The figure was not Ren.
"Hello, Love Caught me in a suprise. Aren't you fierce." Who is this man? I swiftly grabbed my daggers and was in a ready stance. Whoever this guy was can impersonate another.
"Relax love, I'm not gonna harm you. Well...unless you don't provoke me."
"Who are you. Where's Ren and don't call me love." I was disgusted by this man, but at the same time, he was quite handsome. I scowled at myself for admiring his features. He laughed and said, "Relax love, your friend is not dead and is suprisingly alive."
"What do you mean?!" Was he dead? Did this man fight Ren while he was alone. Where was Ren? Then out of nowhere another figure appeared and punched the man right in his jaws. He staggered back and touched his lips that were slighly bleeding.
"Stay away from her!" It was Ren! I was relieved that he wasn't hurt.
The man laughed. "No can do, besides who really found her first?"
