Kapitel 15: Time Flies

"That's the thing..." Felix said as he scratched the back of his neck and looked at me awkwardly, "I don't know."

We were in what looked like the woods or a forest... I don't know if there is a difference between saying woods or forest but it was either one of the two. Wherever we ended up... Which just to make it clear... I haven't the slightest clue to... It was dark, cold and unwelcoming.

"It wasn't exactly what I would call your ideal place."

When I say dark that is because in the place we ended up, it was already night time. Time had flown by so fast in this place and to think it was only morning a few minutes ago but here it was already midnight by the looks of things.

Long tree branches hung down and the moonlight beamed through its leaves. We were standing together, Felix and I, on a hill in the middle of the forest as I looked around in wonder to see trees that covered as far as the eye could see.

"In other words... we were in the middle of nowhere."

The bright green light that consumed us had vanished and the question... "Where are we?.." was still hanging in the air since Felix didn't seem to know what was going on himself.

I looked around to see him sitting on a huge rock that was just beside the hill we stood on. He was staring into the distance... like I was earlier... he was most probably thinking about something.

"What are you thinking about?.." I asked him in curiosity.

"Where we are..." He said as he gazed further into the distance.

"Do you know where we are now?.." I questioned him, in hope that he did.

"No, I still don't..." he said, "I'm still trying to figure out how we got here in the first place."

"Do you think we'll be able to get out of here?.." I asked again as I looked to the forest that seemed to be getting darker and darker the more I looked at it.

"We haven't tried escaping this place yet," Felix said, "so we wouldn't know..."

"So..." I said awkwardly unable to think of what to say next as I put my hands behind my back, looked down at my feet and was about to fiddle with my shoes when I saw what I was wearing... I was wearing gold heels and due to the fact that I was speechless, I did not continue my sentence... I mean gold heels!.. Would you be able to speak if you had a pair on?..

"Obviously I was asking a girl that question... unless you a guy who likes wearing heels."

"F.. F.. Ffff.. Felix?.." I gasped as I managed to get the words out of my mouth before swallowing them again.

"What?!.." He exclaimed in concern.

"My sh.. sh.. shoes..." I stuttered out.

He looked down to see my golden heels... "Oh, no..." he said, "this is bad."

"What do you mean?!.." I questioned him in shock. "What does it mean?.."

"Well actually I can't tell you..." He said.

"Wait, what?!.." I said in confusion as I looked towards him with a blank look on my face.

"I'm not supposed to tell you..." He said nonchalantly.

I just looked at him in more confusion... I was officially more confused now than ever.

"Okaaay..." I said still thinking as I looked at the shoes on my feet and then to the direction of the woods that was dark and dense with luscious trees covering the forest floor. "Fine don't tell me!.." I exclaimed to him.

I was starting to get angry with Felix because he wouldn't tell me what was going on. He could have at least told me what the shoes appearing on my feet meant... I thought.

"I can't tell you..." he said, like he could tell what I was thinking, "because if I do... your life will be put in danger and you won't be able to live a normal life... Ever Again."

"Danger?!.." I asked him with a questioning look on my face. "What is so bad that it will put my life in danger?.."

"You take the fact that your life is in danger very lightly, don't you?.. But I can't tell you," he said, "unless you don't value your life."

I began to think of what was happening and so I said the only thing my brain could think of at the time... "You were sent here to protect me, weren't you?.."

After I had said that Felix kept quite and didn't say a word which meant that I was most likely right.

"So who are you really then?.." I questioned him.

"Does who I am really matter now..." Felix said as he stared off into the distance without even giving me a second glance.

He just ignored me... like I wasn't even there... and he continued to sit on the rock and stare at who knows what.

"If you are just going to sit there and do nothing it is okay with me..." I said to him as he continued to stare into space... Clearly he was not taking note of me, "but I'm getting out of here "with or without you"..."

So there I was stuck in the middle of the woods with nowhere to go and not to mention freezing my ass off. It was beyond cold... and the wind was not helping.

"Yeah, you can try..." Felix said after I said I was going to leave this place, "I'll just sit here and watch."

Was he mocking me?.. Well either way, I'm getting out of here... I thought, whether he likes it or not.

I sat down on the rock beside Felix and glared at him. As I did this he just looked at me and said... "If you think that just by giving me one glare I'll die you thought wrong."

I glared at him even more after he said that and then I began to take off the shoes because let's face it... No girl can run in the woods with heels on and besides, why would I want to destroy such beautiful heels with the marsh and mud of the forest floor. I mean, they just appeared on my feet a few minutes ago, they're practically new and destroying them would be a waste of good shoes.

"What are you doing?.." Felix said as he saw me about to remove the golden heels from my feet.

"Getting a head start..." I replied confidently with a smirk attached to my face.

«Fast forward»

~At Home~

I finally got up the steps of my apartment. I was so tired from being trapped in that forest or woods that all I wanted to do was go to sleep but with the way I smelt and the fact that I was all sweaty, I guess going to bed was not an option, well for now anyway...

But anywho... I bet you wondering how I managed to escape that marshy, muddy, cold, dark forest that was densely covered with huge trees. I would say I did it by myself but that would be a lie. One word... "Felix" that's all I'm going to say... Or maybe not.

Yeah, you heard me "Felix" the guy who was relaxing on a rock saying he'll just sit back and watch me try to escape rather, was the same guy who helped me.

»Let's Backtrack For This One«

When I sat on the rock and attempted to take off the heels... let's just say I ran into some problems... because the heels would not budge. The shoes just wouldn't come off as much as I tried to remove them and they just stayed stuck to my feet like they had been glued on.

Felix just looked at me oddly and then I saw an instant shift on his mouth which later turned into a smirk.

"So, I see your head start is going smoothly..." He said gloating as he mocked me on what I said before.

I just gave him another death glare and continued to try and get the shoes off but nothing seemed to be working.

"You need a little help with that?.." He said still gloating at me as he tried to make it look like I needed him for everything. Wow, conceited much... I thought.

"No, I can do it myself, thank you very much..." I said as I tried to make it look like I could get the shoes off, which I couldn't but I didn't want to look needy so I guess, I chose to be stubborn instead.

But Felix being Felix obviously picked up on what I was doing.

I turned away from him when he suddenly said... "Alice give me your foot..." but I continued to face my back towards him.

When I looked again I was turned around and Felix was busy trying to get off the heels which he too also seemed to have some trouble with.

"Don't even think about trying anything funny..." I said to him in a serious tone while trying to compose myself from laughing since I wasn't actually being serious.

He held my foot in place as I said this and looked up at me with a smirk. I looked away from him as he did this because I got all flustered and I am pretty sure I was blushing but I didn't want him to see.

I felt his hand touch my foot as he slowly began to remove one of the shoes. The shoe was stuck in place as he tried to get it off and as he touched my leg to hold my foot, it sent shivers down my spine.

He only smirked when he saw my reaction after he had touched me.

"If this is how you react now when I just touch your leg... I wonder how you'll react if I touch you somewhere else?.." He said with a devious smirk appearing on his face.

"W.. w.. what?!.." Was all I could reply to his question before I most probably turned completely red.

"I'm just kidding..." He said as I looked away with his smirk still glued on.

I just remained silent and as soon as I looked down I saw that my shoes had been removed. I didn't even feel him take off the other shoe.

"Wait, how did you get them off?.." I asked him in confusion. "When I tried to get them off they wouldn't budge."

"I don't know, maybe the shoes just want me to touch you..." He said jokingly with a laugh as he still held his smirk in place.

Once the shoes were removed I held them together with my right hand and made a run for it, into the darkness of the forest when suddenly out of the blue, I was pulled back into Felix's arms. My feet were all muddy by now and Felix held me close.

"I can't let you get lost in those woods now, can I?.." He said.

The next thing I knew... he lifted me up and began to carry me in his arms, bridal style. He rushed his way into the woods with me still in his arms and it was like he knew his way around the place... like he had done this many times before.

There were twists and turns he took as he carried me and it seemed almost as though the forest was some sort of maze.

So I guess, him carrying me wasn't so bad after all because if I had to try to escape this forest by myself... I would have definitely gotten lost.

I looked back behind me to see that the trees were slowly fading away into the distance as we made our way to the road and soon there was not a tree in sight and the forest that disappeared was soon replaced with a city.

- End of backtrack -

»Back To Where We Are«

After Felix got us out of the woods he carried me through the city until we eventually reached my apartment. I wanted him to put me down when we reached my apartment steps but he didn't and carried me all the way up the steps instead.

When we reached the door he put me down while I still had the heels in my hand and then it started to rain.

I looked at him for a bit as I thanked him for everything he did and then I asked him if he wanted to come inside and dry off but he said he had to go somewhere and that it was important. The last thing he did before he ran off into the rain was kiss me and then he disappeared into the distance as I unlocked the door to go into my apartment.

"So here I am back at the place I call home sweet home..."
