Kitty looks down at Ketan and sees that he is doing well after having the demon come out of his body. She sighs and takes a step out of the room. She moves back to her bedroom. She starts to feel completely drained and curls up on the bed. The mark on her side heats up and finally gives her the pain that usually comes with being marked by another being. She grabs the blanket underneath her and holds back her screams. Once the demon's mark of powers flowed through her body she relaxes but is unable to move yet. Unable to tell how long it has been she tries to open her eyes weakly.
Ketan woke up alone in the room and got up and went downstairs feeling a million times lighter than before. He saw that everyone but Kitty was at the table having lunch. "Where is Kitty? She should be eating with you guys."
"Ketan, how much do you know about demons? I know a lot about fox demons but I am talking about the other kind of demons." Cindy looks at Ketan and asks this right away.
And when our baby stirs and struggles to be born it compels humility: what we began is now its own.
