Kapitel 8: The Situation Of Blake Belladonna

Darkness. That was what Jacks world was like for a long time, a black existence filled with a lot of pain. He couldnt see anything, couldn't hear anything, but could feel loads of pain as well as an intense heat, as if his whole body had been set on fire.

After what felt like an eternity, Jack opened his blood red eyes, struggling to regain what little sense he had. Between the mind numbing pain, and the fog clouding his head, he felt like death would've been a mercy at this point.

Struggling into a sitting position, Jack moved his aching body as much as he could manage. He didn't have any idea where he was, and had no idea where everyone else had gone, but he figured that was the least of his worries. Surviving whatever was happening came first, and once he was safe, only then could he worry about everyone else.

Blinking the cloudiness out of his eyes, Jack attempted to get a good look at his surroundings. He appeared to be in a bare room, one that held only a small mattress and a wooden desk with a chair next to it. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was surprisingly clean and the mattress even looked rather new.

It wasnt the worse place to wind up in, but it wasn't exactly pleasant. He needed to get out and gather information on where he was and what had happened to him.

He tried to push himself up, but found that his strength still had yet to return, all he could do was wait until he had enough energy to move and get up on his own.

Blake Belladonna's POV:

After the encounter with Gladisor, Bella had been escorted by one of the guards through a maze of alleys and passages until they had arrived at the place that Gladisor had called "The slums".

Just from the entrance of the place, Bella could see that it wasn't a place that ordinary people would bother living in. The ground was littered with garbage and shards of glass were everywhere, the walls of the buildings were sprayed with graffiti.

It was much worse then that but Bella merely turned her head and followed the guard as he lead her to her new home.

This new home however was a rather small looking shack that had been sprayed on three sides with bright green and red graffiti. It wasn't the first place that Bella would've picked to live.

The guard walked up and knocked on the front door. "Open up, its the Golden Lion squadron from the Syphilia Warriors. I'm here on official business."

The door opened, revealing an young looking woman in tattered clothing and sporting a bright smile. If it wasn't for the blood oozing down her lower jaw and the bruises covering her face, she would've been a great beauty.

"Hello, how may I help you this fine day?" The young lady asked, her eyes flickering from Bella to the guard.

"As pertaining to the refugee law, you are obligated to take in a refugee regardless of personal preference or selfish reasons." The guard pushed Bella towards the young woman, clealry not offering her any other choice. "Please note that if you refuse to follow this law then you will be branded a criminal and kicked out of the city of Syphilia."

The young lady sighed and took Bella's arm, flashing the guard a small smile. "We'll accept her, thank you for bringing us to her." She then shut the door in the guards face.

Bella did a quick scan of the small room they were in before staring at the lady in front of her. Up close, she looked even worse, with bags underneath her eyes and her face covered with black and blue markings.

"Whats your name?" The younge female asked as she stepped past Bella, walkibg over to the kitchen. "My name is Francine Walker, a mere level 8 withoyt anything worth stealing. If your here because you want to abuse me and then rob me, dont bother as I already have that positioned filled."

"My name is Blake Belladonna, though those close to me call me Bella," Bella said as she followed after Francine, entering the kitchen with her. "And what do you mean by posi....ooooof!!"

Bella was cut off midsentence by a fist connecting with midsection, knocking all the winds out of her lungs, forcing her onto her knees. She looked up to see a huge middle aged man with a dirty white shirt standing above her.

"Hey, whose the bitch?" The man asked, stepping past Bella and walking over to Francine, his eyes full of obvious rage. "Did you bring another orphan into my home? Do you think this is a daycare?"

SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

The house was filled with the sound of the mans smacks as he pounded the woman with his hands, his arms never ceasing to move. Francine however, didnt let out a single slund as each and every blow connected to her, causing her immense pain.

It didn't last long however, as the man suddenly went rigid as if he had been stunned. He slowly turned his fat head, struggling to look at the girl who was now standing behind him.

Bella backed away, leaving the knife sge had stabbed into the mans back exactly where it was. She didnt know who the man was, hell she barely knew who she herself was, but she did know that those who touched her in any way would fall by her own hands.

Blood began to pour out from the sides of the knife still implanted in his back, soaking into his shirt as the man collapsed onto his knees, clearly losing strength. He was beyond help as Bella had made sure to stab the kitchen knife into a vital point on his body.

Francine didn't say a single word, just watched as the man slowly transferred from a kneeling position to one where he was completely on his stomach, not moving a single muscle. It was clear that she felt no pity for the man, and wasnt in any hurry to even attempt to save his life.

"Next time you want to pick on a girl, do it where others can see you," Bella said as she sat down in the corner of the house, wiping the blood that was spilling from her lip. She had bit it accidentally went the man had hit her. "I guarantee you that you would've recieved an even worse treatment if my captain had saw you do that. He doesn't take to kindly to his own comrades getting hurt by some prick."

"Whose this captain that you speak of?" Francine asked, clearly beyond acknowledging what had happened to the man. "Whats he like?"

"Lets talk about that later," Bella said, pucking herself off the floor. "What was this guy to you? Wasn't he important to you?"

Francine looked down at the now unconscious man who still had blood pouring out of him. At this point there was no way he could be saved even if someone wanted to, he had simply lost too much blood. The next part that would follow would be the man going into shock, followed by death soon after.

"He once was, a long time ago," Francine said, turning her now cold eyes away from the body. "However, this now had become the lowest of all scums throughout the whole of the slums."

"Okay, then what do you want to do with the body?" Bella asked, prodding the man with her foot. "Arent you afraid of gettig into trouble?"

"We can just toss him outside, deaths happen all the time in the slums, so it won't be a problem." Francine walked around the body, heading into a different room. "Hell, even if he went missing, people would probably just think that the slave traders got to him."
