Kuro Kiba entered Max's house and went straight to Max's room to tend to Max's injuries, leaving behind the caged Phyonet near the house entrance.
Inside the cage, the Phyonet was curled up. Its body was shaking in fear. The killing intent and blood lust exuded by Max was not something the young Phyonet had experienced before.
The prince to its kind, might wielder of the strength of lightning. For the first time in its life, feebly imprisoned. helpless
It felt anger, humiliation. It wanted to escape. Escape this imprisonment, into the wild, back to its home, in the lush green forest, where one day it will become king.
But its body wouldn't move. It felt weak. Helpless. And fear. It felt so afraid that it couldn't muster the courage to lift its head.
How could its life turn out like this? Never did the young Phyonet, nor its kind could have ever expected a trip to relieve its self could be dangerous.
The most embarrassing thing about the situation was, it didn't know how it was captured.
It was a casual early morning. The sun was slowly rising, the young Phyonet had its usual early morning urges.
The young Phyonet, not expecting to be kidnapped, went to its favorite relieving space. As it started relieving its self, the world slowly darkened, its body gradually lost all strength.
When it regained its consciences, it was trapped in a small cage, surrounded by humans, watching youngsters of their own kin fight.
It wanted to growl, but something was binding its mouth. It tried to attack the cage that restricted its freedom, but it couldn't find its usual domineering strength. It couldn't summon its unusually majestic lightning.
For the first time in its life, the young Phyonet felt small. Powerless and alone in a place that who knows how far from its home.
As if things were not tough enough as it is, the feeble human youngling that was being carried together with it suddenly released a large amount of energy. The energy was nothing like it ever felt before.
Its whole existence was shaken to its core. Its body and blood telling it to submit to the owner of this energy. A sense of fear born from the deepest part of its soul.
Time slowly passed. It has been a week since the day it had lost its freedom. And the young Phyonet had also gradually accepted its current fate.
At least its life is slightly better now. It was now living in a much more spacious room. Sadly, it was still not able to use its lightning. The weird-looking collar on its neck restricting its strength.
The only thing that was worrying the young Phyonet was 'The Scary human' sleeping only several feet away.
Although, the said person has not been awake. It was as though the human had gone into hibernation.
The young Phyonet would have thought Max was dead if it weren't for the sudden surge of energy entering Max's body daily.
After more than a week of living with Max, the young Phyonet had found an enjoyable moment for it. Precisely after an hour after the surge of energy that enters Max's body.
Having absorbed all the spirit energy in the surrounding, Max's body would expel a large amount of redundant spirit energy from Max's body.
Strangely, the redundant energy is more pure and easy to absorb than the natural spirit energy available in the surroundings.
But the reason the young Phyonet was always looking forward to this happening was, not only was the energy pure, making it easier and more beneficial to absorb. But the expelled energy had a tinge of lightning and fire properties.
Being able to use a different element from all of its species. It is a blessing. But at the same time, it is also a curse.
Without question, it would become unnaturally strong due to being a cross elemented being. Compared to its peers on the same level, even five of them would not be enough to defeat the young Phyonet.
But as it gets older, the drawback of being unique had started to show. Phyonets, being naturally fire elemented species, cannot fulfill the requirement to allow the young Phyonet to grow.
Phyonets are elemons that move in large groups. Naturally, the Phyonets would choose to colonize in a place that allows their kind to grow stronger.
The young Phyonets colony had been colonizing in the blessed land that allows their fire and own strength to soar for generations.
But even with generations of heritage, there was sadly nothing that allows its lightning to grow in power or purity. The young Phyonet cannot even depend on the other Phyonets to teach it how to wield the lightning.
To make things even worse, the Phyonets are highly territorial. They don't get along with any of their neighbors. Sharing resources are out of the question. What more techniques to wield lightning?
To the Phyonet that has always been short on resources, Max's excess energy was the most luxurious amount of nurturing it has ever received.
The power of its lightning has grown more in this one week than in the past three years.
As much as the young Phyonet was scared of Max, the greed to strengthen its lightning was stronger. Whenever Max would release the excess energy, the young Phyonet would lay on Max's chest to not allow the slightest.
As such, sensing Max had finished absorbing the spirit energy in the surrounding. The young Phyonet climbed onto Max's chest and closed its eyes, waiting to absorb and refine the fine delicacy.
But unusually, even after waiting for two hours, there was no excess energy being released. The young Phyonet opened its eyes to find the abnormality in its routine.
To its surprise, Max, who was supposed to be sleeping, was wide awake. He was staring at the Phyonet with a light smile on his face.
The young Phyonet jumped from Max's chest onto the floor. It ran to the corner of the room, far away from the demon's reach. It growled angrily at Max, even though its fake bravery was betrayed by its dreaded eyes.
The young Phyonet was shocked. It had never expected the human would wake up. Its judgment was clouded by greed. It had forgotten the human would wake up.
Other than Kuro Kiba, who visits daily to check up on Max. It had not thought of Max as human anymore.
Now that the person who captured it had awoken, what would be the fate of it now?
