Kapitel 20: family meeting.
So it was finally the time for the parents to meet. We were supposed to go to Samar's place to meet his parents. I was excited but nervous at the same time.
of course i had met uncle and aunty many times but this was the first time I was gonna meet them not as his friend but as his lover. I was happy that finally I was going to get married with the love of my life.
I got ready. I wore a pink saree which was gifted by him on my I guess 23rd birthday. He told that he loves me wearing saree...I look 10 times more beautiful....so I wore that saree with matching jhumka earrings and a simple bracelet in my wrist...I always liked keeping my clothing simple.
while I was sitting on my bed nervously, my mom came in to check whether I got ready...she could clearly see I was nervous so she held my hand and Said "beta, today is the most important day of your life. u r gonna meet ur future family. I know this is difficult... leaving us and getting into a new house with new people but beta this is our lives...when you were born people asked me what will you do now..ur third child is also a girl..to that I replied to them, why should I be disappointed because it's a girl..my other two daughters are not less than my sons and nor is this child and less than my son...I don't have three daughters but I have three sons... beta I have always given you the freedom of everything but always remember if you have any problems do not hesitate to tell me. I am not like other moms who would say that once you step into ur husband's house,you cannot come back...this will always be your home..now beta always keep your in laws happy, the way you love us and spread happiness in this house do the same there..do not worry about us...we love you beta"
after my mom told this both of us started crying...I lay on my mom's lap feeling the love and warmth, for some reason I just wanted to undo everything...i know we got to leave our parents and go but...I didn't want to...I wanted to get married but I didn't want to leave my house..
of course if you ask any Indian girl about marriage she will have mixed emotions...she wants a life partner in life but at the same time, you don't want to leave the place and the people you stayed from birth till you get married..
I always had this thought in my mind..why do we girls have to leave our house and our parents..why can't guys do that...??
but unfortunately till date i Never got an answer for that
