Kapitel 42: Reaching for the stars
Starlight and Crystal were on the top deck while looking at the distant horizon. The sunset was really incredible. The wind blew their hair gently. As the day turned into night, Starlight was so excited.
"Mommy, I see stars!! I want to reach the stars!" Starlight said happily.
"How can you reach it? It's so far away." I said.
"Look, Mommy!! I can reach it... 1..2..3.. I caught three stars!" Starlight said joyfully.
"Wow, that's awesome, Starlight! Let's go back now. It's getting cold." I said.
"Mommy, I want to ask you something." Starlight's expression suddenly dampens.
"Yes, sweetie?" As I kissed her.
"Why daddy is in a lot of pain yesterday?" she asked.
"Before you were born, daddy got hurt. It was really bad. It can happen anytime even if the hurting spot is gone now. Daddy scared you, right?" I asked Starlight. She shook her head.
"Daddy must be sad. He cannot see everything." Starlight cried on my shoulder. I comforted her and said, "Starlight, when you hug, kiss, and hold daddy's hand... it will be enough. Even when he cannot see, you can always tell him what you see. He will always love you." I kissed Starlight afterward.
As they finished talking, both of them are enjoying the night breeze.
"Daniel, you arrived just in time. Shan shan and I were discussing about something. How was your talk with David?" Elaine asked.
"Informative. Got a lot of informations." Replied Daniel.
Elaine and Shan Shan smiled as they drank their cocktail.
"Do you know where Crystal is?" Daniel asked.
"They are on the top deck. I'll ask David to bring you there." Elaine said.
"Thank you." Daniel replied.
As David wheeled Daniel to the top deck, David tapped on my shoulder.
"Daniel is here." David smiled.
"Starlight, daddy is here. Get the blanket down there and help him cover his knees, okay?" Crystal smiled at Starlight. Starlight happily agreed.
"Daddy, here is the blanket. Don't get cold and don't be in pain anymore." Starlight placed the blanket on Daniel's knees and he smiled.
"Starlight, you've grown up so much." As Daniel tries to find Starlight's face. Starlight held Daniel's hand and placed them on her face.
"Starlight is here. Don't worry." Starlight smiled warmly. Daniel smiled and felt for her forehead and kiss her.
"I missed you, Starlight." Starlight hugged Daniel and kissed him on the cheeks.
