Upon walking slowly to the sealed passageway that divided the south Dunbarton plains and Gairech Hills, Axel looked over the portal like gate that reached up as high as a small mountain. This gate was called a 'Sealstone' and in the early phases of the Mabinogi game, it would require a Milletian of rather virtuous abilities to unlock in order to clear the passageway to a new area. The prerequisites for opening the 'Sealstone' often called upon abilities that could range from having a high status window, equipping rare skills, or in possession of rare artifacts. Before any Milletian was able to unlock the 'Sealstone', there would be huge boulders blocking the portal from being opened.
However, the scene before him was absolutely nerve wracking. The portal was open, and there was no 'Sealstone' to be seen. It seemed that the people of this world had found a way to unlock the portal without the help of the Milletians. This was of course due to the fact that Axel was possibly the only Milletian in this world at the moment, and there was much to be learned about the mysteries of the 'Sealstone'.
Although the portal looked to be open, Axel soon saw a signpost on the right side a few meters before the entrance of the portal. The signpost read:
"Beware of the Gairech Hill Region. Fomors lurk endlessly during Eweca. Please take note to travel only during daylight hours.-The Dunbarton Infantry Troops."
"Hmm, can I take it as a friendly advice that it's actually better for me to move at night?" Axel thought as he put his hand on his chin.
Seeing that it had been midnight, he decided to proceed to go inside the portal. The fight with the company of Dunbarton soldiers had taken up an entire evening, but it seemed that not much time had passed since then. Axel still had many questions about his new abilities, but one detail he had confirmed on was that his flying ability along with the long-ranged teleportation was not an all-purpose and godly skill. He had felt a serene force of energy rapidly decreasing inside of his subconscious, and the more he used this force of energy, the more mentally tired he felt on the inside. This was mostly like the innate existence of Mana inside of Axel. The main difference was that the transformation into an Incubus Overlord had multiplied the capacity of his total Mana Pool, as it would have been impossible to use flying and teleportation with the meager amount of mana points that Axel previously had as a human.
As he appeared in the new area outside the portal, he saw a large hill spreading downwards. There were many pine trees, and tall mountains on the sides of the roads ahead. Before heading out, Axel decided to try out something new. He focused his mana on his fingertips and pointed it on his forehead. A neon blue light flashed inside of Axel's mind. In the light, he had seen a table of his status window:
{Name: Axel, Race: Human, Age: 17 years old, Title: The Immortal}
{HP: 67, MP: 515(Base:15), SP: 54}
{STR: 38, INT: 12, DEX: 17, WILL: 25, LUK: 10}
{Skills: 'Counterattack Rank F', 'Smash Rank F'}
{Transformations: 'Incubus Overlord'(Active)}
"Wow, this is exactly like Eaven's appraisal, but it seems like I can look at my own status window by imbuing mana within my subconcious!" Axel exclaimed in his mind.
Besides the Active Transformation of the Incubus Overlord enacting a huge mana pool increase, everything else on the status window had been the same, which affirmed Axel's wise decision to retreat from the encirclement of soldiers previously.
"Man, I would been screwed if I didn't run away in time. I really made the right bet!! Hahahahaha!!!!" Axel chuckled out loud. For some reason, he did not feel despair from having transformed into an Incubus Overlord, as his status still categorized him as a Human. This meant that Cichol's curse was not permanent, and through the correct remedies, there could be a way for Axel to lift the curse. Even back on Earth, he had been an aloof character, and never minded the eyes of the public. As long as he enjoyed his life and went about it in his own pace, no one or nothing else would matter in the end.
After resetting his normal mindset, Axel gleefully marched forward, towards the luscious regions of the Gairech Hills. He did not want to use his flying abilities as this would be his trump card in case he had met a life-threatening situation.
...
An hour had passed and Axel seemed to have lost his way, as it was very dark, and he had continued to wander in the direction opposite of where Gairech Hills had been. There had been a fork in the roads, and Axel had taken the right fork into the other direction. Now he realized that this direction was the road heading to Sen Mag Prairies, the battlefield where the Second Great War of Mag Tuireadh had taken place. This was also the region where the huge hoard of adventurers had headed off to before Axel had turned in his quests. The devilish Peaca Dungeon resided there, and all the high ranking Fomors were sealed inside.
Since he had already gone in the opposite pathway, he decided to keep going, and as he walked few hundred meters forward, he saw a dungeon entrance in the clearing. According to his memory in the game of Mabinogi, there could only be one dungeon in this region before entering the Sen Mag Prairies. This was Fiodh Dungeon, a forest type dungeon that houses many powerful magical monsters. The Fomors in there consisted mostly of Imps, Wisps, and Gremlins. There were also many non-magic creatures such as spiders, bears, werewolves, and gorgons. All of these were considered extremely powerful for normal adventurers under the Mythril rank. One had to be versed in dealing with both powerful magic and physical attacks, and countless adventures would lose their lives in attempting this dreamy, forestry maze.
As Axel entered inside the dungeon, a broken Goddess Statue was seen in the open. Inside the dungeon lobby, there were various Fomors camping inside. Some were sleeping, while some were cultivating their mana to train their magic. Among the magic creatures, there was an imp that kept on switching between visible and invisible. From a quick glance, Axel knew that this was an Invisible Imp, a rare type of Fomor that usually spawns in the Coill Dungeon near Emain Macha. Before Axel could even greet this flickering Imp, a shout rained from the little creature,
"Hmph! Don't bother me human! Can't you see I'm focusing right now?!"
