Wannian is the tallest among her group of friends for now, so she declares herself as the boss where Sima Yi immediately seconds her motion trying to make her happy, while Zhuge Liang asks sheepishly why it has to be her who became the boss, and Lu Xun just nods his head in agreement.
Wannian who heard Zhuge Liang's question immediately showed her overbearing to Zhuge Liang, scolding him for questioning her decision which caused Zhuge Liang to shrink in.
Even though Zhuge Liang was scolded by Wannian, he just thought that this older sister was easy to tease and his childish side began to grow from there, unbeknownst to him that Sima Yi was giving him a bad eye.
Sima Yi feels that Zhuge Liang and Lu Xun's presence is taking away the attention that Wannian has only for him now being split into the three of them, something that he resents since realizes the growing feeling he has for Wannian.
The group of children was guarded by Lie Fan's bodyguards Zhang Mancheng and Zhao Hong, since the fame of the three genius grew within Xiapi and with Wanniang always alongside them, Lie Fan assigned two of his bodyguards to guard him.
If something ever happens to either one of them or the four of them together, not only he will be disheartened by the loss of his sister and young talents, but he will also offend many people such as Sima Lang and Zhuge Xuan alongside Zhuge Jin.
While they were playing in the courtyard, Lie Fan holding Yaoyao in his hand while Ying Yue holding Chenchen came outside and saw them playing in the courtyard and walked toward them.
Wanniam who was playing saw them walking toward her, she immediately abandoned her friends and ran toward them playing with Yaoyao and Chenchen who were happy to see her.
Sima Yi, Zhuge Liang, and Lu Xun who saw Lie Fan approached him and greeted both Lie Fan and Ying Yue, especially Sima Yi who had the highest respect and admiration for Lie Fan since he was a role figure and Wannian's Older Brother.
Zhuge Liang and Lu Xun also greeted Lie Fan with respect, Lu Xun was taught by his Uncle to treat Lie Fan with respect and someone he should look up to, while Zhuge Liang did it for the sake of formality and admiration for what he heard of Lie Fan.
This serene situation was broken by Chen Qun who entered the courtyard, informing Lie Fan that there was an update from the frontline that he needed to know.
Lie Fan says goodbye to his family and the three little genius, leading Chen Qun toward his office in the estate where it's a more private place for an important discussion between the two of them.
Lie Fan: "What's the update on the frontline? Is it something bad?"
Chen Qun: "It's not bad news My Lord, it's more important news that we have managed to control Wanling County and capture both Yu Fan and He Qi."
Lie Fan: "Yu Fan and He Qi were captured?! How is it possible? Aren't they Liu Yao's top advisor and general, how could they be in Wanling County."
Chen Qun: "They have been relinquished from their service to Liu Yao, after much digging from the Oriole intelligence network in Yang Province, it was found that the two of them were even being declared as criminals by Liu Yao."
Lie Fan: "I see then they are trying to run away from Liu Yao's pursuit, then what is their purpose in running away to Wanling? Aren't they just jumping from a tiger cage into a cage full of wolves?"
Chen Qun: "They are trying to find refuge in Liu Biao, and the only port that they think is safe to set sail toward Liu Biao's domain is located in Wanling County."
Lie Fan: "I see then inform Huang Zhong and the others to do a great job in making sure that they feel accepted and can be recruited to our cause."
Chen Qun cupped his hand and told Lie Fan that Yu Fan and He Qi had entered their service to Lie Fan, it's just not what Lie Fan expected because they were threatened to join by using their family as a bargain.
Lie Fan who heard this pounded his table and told Chen Qun to immediately send a letter to Huang Zhong and told him to apologize to them, as something like this could cause a bad situation.
Chen Qun nods his head and tells Lie Fan that he will send the letter as soon as possible, while this is happening at Xiapi in Wu County where Yan Baihu right now resides, Yan Baihu holds a meeting with his council.
They are discussing their next step after declaring their independence from Liu Yao, when they wanted to defend themselves from Liu Yao's incoming attack they received news that Lie Fan and Sun Ce had attacked Liu Yao.
This caused Liu Yao to pull back his army from attacking them and allowed Yan Baihu to have free time to consolidate his power and influence over Wu County.
Yan Baihu now holds absolute control over Wu County, something that he thought so which makes him very confident in his power, not knowing that all of that happened because of Oriole who supported him under Lie Fan's order.
Yan Baihu: "Everyone now we hold absolute control of Wu County, our army is large and well fed while our supplies are bountiful, I would like to propose for us to attack Sheng Xian in our south!"
Xu Gong: "My Lord while our army is large and well fed with bountifull supplies, our position right now is not good as Lie Fan is on our west and his army is very powerful which poses a large threat to us."
Yan Yu: "Xu Gong are you trying to say that the Wise King of The East is afraid of Lie Fan?! He is just a pretender and will be defeated by him sooner or later."
Xu Gong: "No of course not, I'm just saying that Lie Fan is a very large threat, and if our army attacks Sheng Xian right now, My Lord could lose his capital."
Yan Baihu: "Humph! Lie Fan is just a pretender and according to the wisdom bestowed upon me he will be defeated by me!"
Chen Mu: "My Lord I agree with your suggestion to attack Sheng Xian, while Lie Fan's army is powerful they are focused on the conquest of Liu Yao's territory."
Yan Baihu: "Alright since everyone except for Xu Gong agrees to attack Sheng Xian, then in a week we will attack Sheng Xian! Yan Yu and Chen prepare our army and supplies, in a week I will lead the attack personally!"
Yan Baihu's decision was final and all of his retainers accepted it except for Xu Gong who still protested Yan Baihu's decision, he didn't know that all of his retainers except for Yan Yu supported him because of Lie Fan, all of this was just a play that they staged.
Xu Gong's idea is to have him be limited at first, whereas slowly Yan Baihu would realize that his advice and suggestions are the right ones, while the rest are just pieces of empty advice or suggestions.
Yan Yu was Yan Baihu's younger brother so he was never approached by Oriole, his loyalty to Yan Baihu was unquestionable. In the original timeline, he was killed by Sun Ce because he suggested Yan Baihu and Sun Ce would divide the Wu Territory between them to prevent an all-out war, Sun Ce had him killed rather than appease him.
A week passed by and Yan Baihu led his army to attack Sheng Xian, leaving Xu Gong behind in Wu County to guard it from being attacked by Lie Fan, where this situation was used by Xu Gong to control Wu County into Lie Fan's hand.
Yan Baihu's attack on Sheng Xian was not a surprise for Lie Fan and his subordinates, because it was all that they had planned previously, in the hope that they could take Wu County without any casualties.
Sheng Xian on the other hand was surprised, because they had sent an envoy to Yan Baihu previously to become allies and was accepted by him, now Yan Baihu suddenly decided to attack him which made him confused.
He sends an envoy again to Yan Baihu but doesn't receive any news from his envoy after several days pass even though Yan Baihu's army has entered his domain.
Realizing that Yan Baihu was truly serious about attacking him, Sheng Xian personally led his army to defend his territory and if he could launch a counterattack toward Yan Baihu and take Wu County from him.
When Yan Baihu's army and Sheng Xian's army finally clashed, it was a close battle between the two armies because in terms of experience, and numbers between the two armies were almost the same with Sheng Xian's army having more on his side.
The battle between Yan Baihu and Sheng Xian gave Liu Yao a breathing room because Sheng Xian's army stopped attacking them and decided to stay put defending Sheng Xian's domain because it lost more than half of its original number.
This change was then used by Liu Yao to have his army finally head toward Wanling County, where the latest information he received was that Wanling County was on the brink of being conquered by Lie Fan's army.
He hoped that with this army, he could at least push back Lie Fan's army from taking Wanling County, which unbeknownst to him had fallen to Lie Fan's hand, Yu Mi and Hua Xin were given the command of the army that headed toward Wanling while Liu Yao leads the rest of his army to hold off Sun Jian and Sun Ce's advance on his domain.
