Cliff actually spaced out at Seeker's orders.
The nightmares he had to face were many. Fighting an Overcomer was simply one of the few things he was tasked to do.
"Uh…Cliff? Cliff? Are you there?" Lynd called out worriedly as seconds passed and Cliff maintained a blank reaction. For someone nearing Inhuman stage, this was a terrifying event.
"Don't worry. I've made the necessary preparations that will ensure your survival."
"Zeek. Aren't you being a little too harsh on Cliff?" Meryl finally asked. A hint of anger was heard on her tone.
Seeker glanced at Meryl and had an odd look.
"Alright. That's it." Seeker had a frustrated appearance. His reaction had a trace of true anger.
The faces of the three turned pale as Cliff awoke from his stupor.
"Exactly, why are you two afraid of me? Don't think I haven't noticed." Seeker turned to Meryl and Lynd.
Seeker frowned and crossed his arms with a fork in hand.
Next chap tomorrow.
Now, this chapter is my take on the whole reincarnated thing. If we carry over our memory, would we be the same as who we were as an adult? My answer is, no. Because the brain biology of a kid and an adult being too different, even if you had your adult memory I bet my baby's diaper that you'd still waste a lot of time playing with Pokemon, procrastinating and doing whatever it is kids would do. Because... you... are...a ... kid.
Just to lay it out here... If you noticed Seeker's personality, it has always been a bit warped. More chapters will explore this and you'll understand what I mean by this. We aren't made of our memories.
Like in the love-story movie, The Vow (2012) the wife of Channing Tatum, despite having a clean slate memory, did the same thing her past self did. Drop out of law school (Again) to pursue her career on Art (again), and married the same guy... because she wasn't made of her memory. This has something I have been exploring in this story since chapter 4.
Seeker is a kid. Hence, his kid-like antics.
