Geneva's Pov

When I finally came to it, I found myself lying down on my bed in my room. Turning around I found my mother sitting down on a chair beside my bed with her head on my bed, she seemed to be asleep so I didn't want to wake her and decided to get out of bed.

The minute I sat up, my head started pounding and I let out a soft groan in pain and looked at my mother, her figure stirred but then she went right back to sleep, I let out a sigh of relief and tried to remember what happened. I closed my eyes and little scenes flashed before my eyes, I seem to have fainted and....

"Dad!!" I exclaimed in fright as I immediately shot up from the bed and dashed towards my door, ignoring the pain. That finally woke my mother up and she sat up in reflex and called out my name.

"Where are you going to?" She asked and chased after me but I didn't stop, I ran all the way to my father's room, I had to find out what was wrong with him and if he was okay, 'It's all my fault he got so mad anyway. He must have been under so much stress but I kept pressuring him.' I thought as the tears clouded my vision and I stumbled slightly, luckily my mother caught me.

"You should be careful, you just woke up." She said checking to see if I was hurt.

"How is dad? Where is he? What happened to him?" I asked hurriedly.

"Your father is in his room." She said with a slight edge to her voice, clearly ignoring my first and last question.

"Mum, what happened to him?" I asked with a small voice, afraid to hear the answer.

"Baby it's not your fault, Ok?" She held my shoulders with her hands and bent down so that she was looking into my eyes.

I softly shook my head and resolutely asked, "What happened to dad?" Her eyes suddenly filled up with tears and I could tell that she was trying to keep it together, at that moment I knew that something bad had definitely happened to my father.

Breaking the grip she had on my shoulder I ran all the way to my father's room, only stopping at the door to look at him.

His face was sickly pale and his lips....his once pink and voluptuous lips looked so dry and pale. As soon as I saw his face the tears that I'd been trying to keep at bay suddenly came pouring out and I sobbed profusely.

"Dad..." I said in a small weak voice and walked over to his bed. His eyes slowly fluttered open and his eyes looked blank for a moment before it finally focused on me, "Geneva?" He squeaked out and that only broke my heart further. I quickly ran to his side and hugged him, the tears coming in full force now.

"Dad, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, it's all my fault." I said sobbing into his chest. He gave a small laugh but I could tell that it was even painful for him to laugh.

"Don't be silly now, what do you mean by it's all your fault?" He said before inhaling sharply and slightly clearing his throat. I heard a sniffle behind me and looked up to see my mother, I actually don't think I heard her come in.

"Beatrice, look at your daughter now, she's blaming herself and why are you crying." He said as he reached for my mother's hand.

"I'm okay, I'm not dying. I'm okay." He said probably to reassure us but something told me that it probably to reassure himself too. Wiping the tears from my face, I looked into his eyes, they didn't hold much life now.

"Dad, what is the problem? What did the doctor say?"

"Honey, don't be like that, it's nothing serious, let's go back to your room now." My mother said, holding my shoulder from behind but my dad lifted his hand and gestured for her to stop.

"You want to know what happened, you want to know what the doctor said?" He asked and I nodded slowly, not sure if I actually wanted to know. With much difficulty, he reached under his pillow and brought out a file, sighing he handed it to me.

"Look at it." He gestured towards the file with a grim expression and I nodded, my hands shaking slightly as I opened the file.
