The two quietly walked.
A faint sound that didn't normally belong in that darkness made the two extremely alert.
Liu Zijian warned Han Meixiu earlier not to shoot unless it was needed still held her gun tightly.
The young man explained that since her gun wasn't equipped with a suppressor, it would attack unnecessary attention if used thus she needed to wait until he would give her a signal to shoot.
In short, she's a back up.
Since they couldn't trust their eye sight in this situation, they could use other senses.
Listening where the sound was coming from, both of them halted their breath.
Liu Zijian was puzzled. It didn't sound like a person looking thoroughly in this area. Rather, it sounded like someone's escaping. The urgency of the steps crushing the dried leaves that covered the entire soil of the area and a series of heavy breathing as if the person was almost out of breath, were the simple indications.
In this case, it was wise not to show themselves as they didn't know if this person's a friend or a foe.
A that shadow hurriedly passed through where they were hiding slightly snorted. It was an indication that they've been noticed but decided not to do anything.
Not too far from it, another person was chasing.
"Red! Wait up!"
Both Han Meixiu and Liu Zijian froze. They recognized that voice.
Wasn't that the woman they met earlier?
But who was the other person named 'Red'?
That was probably the other one who jumped in the opposite direction earlier. If that was really the case, why was she in this side?
Where was the man Liu Zijian asked to follow the woman?
Before Han Meixiu could react further, she saw Liu Zijian grabbed the arm of the woman who just called out.
"Where's the man with you?"
"Huh?" The woman who wasn't paying attention to her surrounding was surprised when someone grabbed her suddenly.
"Let her go!" The person called 'Red' turned back and pointed her gun to Liu Zijian.
"Lower your weapon or I'll shoot you!" Han Meixiu nervously shouted and imitated the action of the person called 'Red' as she pointed her gun to the woman.
The woman just briefly glance at her as if calculating their distance. Before she could made a move, the person chasing her spoke.
Seeing the situation, the woman who was grabbed inhaled deeply.
"Relax. We're not enemies. Second Young Master Liu, your companion was already with your group. I guess they'll waiting for you out there." She calmly said.
"Red, I told you. They mean no harm."
Only when the woman called Red lowered her weapon, Han Meixiu did the same but she was still looking stubborn as she angrily looked at the woman who threatened Liu Zijian.
As she was dragged away by the young man, she looked at the two women. She was thinking that maybe she knew them.
When the couple left, Red spoke.
"That was Han Meixiu."
"You know her?"
"92, when you're out on a specific mission, there's no such thing as 'not our enemies' especially if they don't belong to our group."
The other woman said instead of answering her question.
"Let me remind you, the moment you joined, you're expected to forget your past self." Red continued and walked opposite the direction of what the couple took.
"That's not the way to the exit."
"We'll take another route. It's better not to be spotted again. The main road seems busy."
"I see." 92 answered and silently followed the woman in front.

When Liu Zijian and Han Meixiu stepped out of that man made forest, the car they used earlier was replaced by another car and few people were waiting around.
"Second Sir!" Their driver earlier called their attention.
"Where's Zilong?" Liu Zijian asked. He knew these people. If they're here then his brother must have arrived.
"He's in the mansion. He said he's returning something so you should go back first." One of the men answered as it opened the door of the car.
Liu Zijian normally wanted to confront the man responsible for Han Meixiu's disappearance but looking at the young woman he was dragging by holding firmly her hand, he couldn't leave her behind and of course he would never let that man see her again.
He simply nodded and got on the car.
Han Meixiu seeing the people around couldn't help but wonder.
'Does this man also locked me up before? Why does he have a lot of people, too?"
Although she didn't dislike his company and felt much more relax being with him, that didn't mean she wanted to be a 'prisoner' just like when she was in that mansion.
The man beside her ordered the driver to go but Han Meixiu didn't fully caught the entire sentence. She only heard the word 'hotel'.
'We're going to a hotel? But why? What does he want?'
Questions formed on her mind as the car swiftly traveled in an almost empty road of Q City.
Liu Zijian only let Han Meixiu's hand when they arrived inside the hotel's room.
"Take a bath first."
Han Meixiu who was bombarded with questions along the way finally gathered enough courage to ask the young man.
"Are..we going to share a room?"
Liu Zijian who was about to make a call stopped and looked at the young woman. His right hand that was holding his phone was suddenly tucked in the pocket of his trousers.
He forgot. She seemed to have no memories of their relationship and the things that they normally do together would be impossible for now.
But...
He's been deprived of her presence. He wouldn't send her out of the room and of course he wound't sleep in another room either.
When he temporarily lost his memories, the doctor said going to familiar places might help return those elusive memories.
Since he specifically stayed in this room where they first 'slept' together, then it could mean this place was a familiar one, right?
"In order for you to recall your memories fast, we should stay together like we always did in the past." He straight forwardly answered. "This room was the place where we slept together."
Han Meixiu's lips formed a small 'o' after hearing the man and felt her face turned crimson.
She tried to calm herself as the man continued observing her. Recalling memories under this kind of 'pressure' seemed to be not working.
"Uh.. clothes.." She softly uttered.
If she would take a bath, she didn't have new clothes to change into.
"You could wear a robe first. Your clothes will arrive in the morning."
Han Meixiu searched for a wall clock inside the room. When she found one, she took note of the time.
It's half past three in the morning. Technically speaking it's considered morning now.
"Around 6 to 7 probably." Liu Zijian continued after he saw the woman's simple movement. There was a repressed smile on his face before he walked towards the window to finally make a call.
Three hours! Or more! Three of more hours she would wear only a robe and nothing more.
Her face felt several Celsius degrees higher as she rushed towards the bathroom.
She didn't want to take a bath but looking at her own reflection on the mirror, she indeed looked a little filthy. Aside from the dried leaves and small twigs clinging stubbornly on her dress, she was also feeling sticky and itchy.
A hot bath was indeed very tempting.
