Kapitel 16: Void Grasp

Having wiped her tears, Ann's mother soon calmed herself down and wiped the tears from her face. She looked towards her daughter and found her staring back in surprise and as she smiled to her daughter she saw a silhouette standing near the door.

"Who is there" - Apprehension appeared on her face, while surprised to see her daughter beside her, she had not seen anybody else and the sudden appearance of another person's outline had startled her.

"Oh, that is the Young Master of the Fallenwind family mom an... and I am his assistant." -Ann bowed her head in front of her mother to hide the rosy blush.

"Hello there, my name is Joseph Fallenwind" - With a bow, Joseph greeted Ann's startled mother.

"Thank you for saving my life" - Quickly thanking the person who provided her daughter the pill. While they may have been poor, by no means did that mean she could not judge what had happened.

As she was about to question the circumstances of her daughter becoming the assistant to this noble person a booming knocking could be heard from the outside, soon followed by an angry scream.

"Hey bitch you still owe me 1 silver and 35 copper coins for the food and medication. Get out here right now or I will knock this door down" - The angry voice belonged to a local ruffian, he had kept his eyes on poor Ann's mother, while she was sick she still had a decent enough figure to her and he wanted her all to himself to enjoy, but then some of the people he had under him who were keeping an eye on the woman, informed him of a young girl and a young man heading inside the house.

He was getting ready to kick the door down when it suddenly opened, the door opened to the darkness of the void and fear crept onto his face.

---------

As Ann's mother was getting up to deal with her personal issues, a hand raised in front of her and she stopped where she stood.

"Let me handle this." - With a smile on his face, Joseph left the room.

Ann's mother turned to look towards her daughter and out of curiosity asked. "Are the two of you doing the thing between a man and a woman?" - She looked trying to see her daughter's reaction.

"NO" - A loud and resounding yell startled the both them, Ann had never yelled at her mother before and burst into tears as she rand and hugged her healthy mother.

While the two started discussing what occurred earlier in the day and the day before, Joseph was slowly proceeding towards the front door where he could still hear the angry shouts coming from the street.

"System, I need something that will help me deal with this. Is there anything under [Skills] or [Abilities] that I can use?" - Joseph had yet to purchase anything from those two slots in the Shop and while he was still weak he was going to need something to pack a punch.

With the System's notification in mind, Joseph activated the Gaze of Deception skill and the knowledge from within the scroll was transferred into his mind, after everything settling down Joseph soon turned towards a little bottle, it's content a viscous liquid of sorts.

"You don't want me coming inside there bitch, you will regret the day you were born." - Again the angry voice roared towards the house, making promises of undisguised violence towards Ann's mother.

"Activate Gaze of Deception" - Joseph quietly said to himself as he opened the door.

When the door opened, the anger on the face of the man yelling soon vanished and replacing it was a lustful smile, he was expecting the woman of his dreams to finally giver herself to him.

What greeted him and every one else on the street was a seemingly demonic clouds slowly expanding from the door, every single person was petrified they tried to leave but their fear kept them rooted where they stood.

The lustful smile on the man's face was soon replaced by an intense fear, he did not know what was happening but he knew had made a mistake the worst mistake in his life. As he fell to the ground on his knees, he could hear footsteps coming from ahead of him as he looked up he saw a young man's face and in his face a boiling rage could be seen.

Joseph pulled out the bottle of Void Grasp from his pocket and pulled the cork off.

The man thought for a moment that the young man was going to force him to drink a poison of some sort and just as he was going to beg for forgiveness he noticed something strange that caused an even greater fear to overwhelm him.

In the distance the city guards had been called because of the disturbance, the captain of the guards Jothal had long heard of the misdeeds of the person causing the trouble and was ready to throw him in prison for a few months or a couple of years to sort him out.

As Jothal and his squad rapidly approached the location they witnessed a frightful scene. Straight ahead of them they saw their target on his knees with tears streaming down his eyes, standing in front of their target was a man cloaked in shadows and he had his right arm extended.

Joseph looked at the crying mess of a man kneeling in front of him. "The torment you inflicted upon others will now be returned a thousand fold." - A voice filled with disgust came from within the cloak and he poured out the contents of the vial onto the man.

The viscous liquid slowly appeared at first, for some reason it seemed to have life of its own as it checked its surroundings, slowly rotating itself to see the person holding onto the vial and the people along the street. It could smell, or more correctly it could sense the fear in the hearts of these people and it seemed happy, indulging in the fear.

A sudden cry broke it out of its reverie and a shriek emanated from the strange liquid causing nearby windows to shatter and those close by to bleed from their ears. "Take him to the void, return him to nothingness" - Joseph spoke with command, the thing from the vial seemed to have understood and jumped out.

Upon landing landing on the man, the liquid started expanding and the more it expanded the less of the man could be seen, as the man kept on screaming the more he was consumed until he had soon had disappeared leaving a black blob behind.

As Joseph stared at the black blob a slight chill went down his spine, he had read the command instruction out loud but was not expecting the result that was shown, soon after the blob blinked itself out of existence.

While he stood on the street, nobody else moved with fear only to be seen on their faces, not daring to make a sound.

With that Joseph returned back inside the house, it was time to leave quickly he had attracted far too much attention to himself and so it was best to leave while they still had time to remain unknown.
