Kapitel 13: Rich?

As I woke up the next morning, I realized how stupid I am. I was complaining about how using Bone Manipulation to summon bones requires too much mana, but I have Necromancy! I can summon a bundle of bones for very little mana, yet I managed to forget that. Maybe I should change my middle name to Dumb as well.

In any case, things have become a little bit… troublesome. The library is owned and operated by the Adventurer's Guild, which means it is in the administrative sector. Khardin also just happens to be giving a speech there today, so I should definitely avoid that area. His speech sounds like one of those 'get dragged into a malicious scheme, solve it, then get recruited by a higher power' flag. And a flag I must avoid at all costs!

As such, I think I'll be visiting the blacksmithing and armor-making stores today. I have nothing to sell there, but I'll be able to make some average weapons to sell for gold. I wonder if they have an arms dealer?

The inn's breakfast was as usual, which meant I had to spend another 5 silvers on food stalls. By the time I made it to the industry sector, my hands were already full of grease.

*clang* *clang* *clang*

The only thing I could hear was the banging of metal against metal. I haven't heard this sound in such a long time. Those fancy cultivators only required their Qi and a fire, and they could shape any metals. What happened to the good old-fashioned hammers?

I approach what seems to be the largest blacksmith in the area and hail a clerk.

"Yes, how can I help you?" (Clerk)

He said in a monotone voice. It doesn't seem like he enjoys his job very much. I'm slightly regretting coming here in the first place.

"I want to look at your swords, please." (Daniel)

One must keep their manners at all times! Even if the other person doesn't like you. You can curse them all you want on the inside, but on the outside, you must be the epitome of a gentleman.

"Very well, this way." (Clerk)

This guy doesn't have any manners, does he? I'm being led to a smaller part of the store. I'm assuming that's where the good swords are held.

"Give us all your money!" (???)

My assumption was wrong. Very wrong. It turns out this shop is not reputable at all. They lead weak yet wealthy looking customers to the back of the shop, where there are professional hold-up artists.

I don't really care if I lose the money I have on me, since I can always ask for some more from Arkan. But giving it away like this without any sort of repayment leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

This is the perfect opportunity to test out my Skeleton Warriors. They all have Swordsmanship LV1, but haven't fought in real battles yet. They should be able to wipe the floor with them though.

I take out all 23 of my Skeleton Warriors, who aren't covered in any sort of armor.

Ah, my bad. I may have frightened the bandits out of their wits.

"Hiiii! A-A N-N-Necromancer! P-please, forgive us! W-W-W-W-We didn't know your e-e-e-esteemed self was a N-N-Necromancer!" (Bandit 1)

"Do you really think that's how things work? Now that you know I'm a Necromancer, then all the more reason not to let you leave…" (Daniel)

"NOOOOOOO!" (All Bandits)

Yep, my Warriors are working just fine. With this, they should also be able to level up a bit. Now, time to deal with the clerk. He disappeared as soon as the bandit held me up, so he isn't aware of the fact that I killed them all. Perfect.

I pop on my armor and helmet, and sneak out towards the front end of the store. Let's screw with him a bit.

"Hello, sir! How may I help you?" (Clerk)

So it seems like he only serves rich people willingly. Not that it matters, since he's going to disappear very soon…

"I want to check out what's in the back room. I heard from a friend that you keep all the best items there." (Daniel)

"A-Are you sure? W-We have plenty of items in other places!" (Clerk)

"I insist. I only want to check out the best items of this shop." (Daniel)

I also intentionally release some of my killing intent, this time undisguised. With that, the Clerk is sweating buckets and finally leading me to the hold-up room.

When he opens the door, he gasps in surprise seeing all the dead bodies. He turns back around, only to see my face as I take off my helmet.

"It's you!! Why are you still alive??" (Clerk)

"That's not important. The important question is why YOU are still alive." (Daniel)

Ah, he soiled himself. I don't really want a zombie that smells like pee, so I cast a quick Clean on him. After that, I do my signature throat slash and kill him.

Finally, I can test out my new Necromancy magic. It's a waste of a health potion, but I pour one onto the wound to heal it up. Then, I use Create Zombie on the corpse and grant it my memories of the Clerk's actions. Granted, it was very little information, but the zombie should be able to act just fine. Oh, Create Zombie is a new skill I got from the Necromancy magic.

The zombie is no different from a real human, except for the fact that it is dead. The reason for that is that the body was in good condition. Its vocal chords are still in good condition, so the zombie is able to vocalize. It also gains some of the body's memories, because the brain hadn't deteriorated yet.

In general, a zombie which looks and acts exactly like a human. This will be perfect for any infiltration missions.

I tell the zombie to lead me to the actual weapons. Unfortunately, the best quality sword is made of a simple magical steel called Noxia, which is just a downgraded Mithril. The rarity is also only uncommon. However, the price tag is enough to make me swallow my saliva. 100 gold! 100 gold for this piece of junk metal!

I'm about to be the richest person in this region!

But first, I need to make sure I have a reseller. That's where the Clerk zombie comes in. He'll approach the owner of the shop, showing him the quality of my items. I'll give him 10%, and the rest will be mine. Let's just hope things actually turn out that way.

First chapter of the day!

After the 18th I'm planning on releasing 1 chapter a day, 7 days a week.

Depending on how well the novel does, I might upgrade that to 2 chapters a day.

Also, world building will occur in the next two chapters.

Thanks for reading!
