Kapitel 85: CHAPTER 85: FIGHT AFTER FIGHT

"Don't worry. The arena is positioned in the Kimaris Clan for a reason. The brutish clan has a strong sense of honor and made vows on their lives to honestly hold the arena fights in their territory. They won't do anything even if it is their own people. Survival of the fittest and all," Lili said in a voice that sounded a little mad.

"What are you upset about? That I got challenged to a duel?," Night asked feeling a bit puzzled by Lili's shift in attitude. It wasn't like her to be angry. She was usually pretty aloof.

"No, its just that the man that you are going to be fighting to death....he is one of my Sources," Lili said, "...so if you kill him, I'll lose a Source."

"Source? What's that?," Night asked.

"Huh? A Source is a man I visit in his dreams in order to cultivate. I forget that you lack basic information," Lili said bluntly.

Then the realization hit Night. Lili was a Succubus. She cultivated by feeding off the souls of men during their sexual fantasies in their dreams.

So the guy he was fighting...was someone that Lili regularly visited in his dreams to help him live out his sexual fantasies....so that she could swipe soul energy to cultivate.

'Oh shit,' Night thought, 'How many of these sexed up men that fantasize about Lili at night are there?'

"How many Sources do you have?," Night asked Lili with some concern in his voice...he had to know the answer.

"I have around 15 regulars...and I causally visit around 20 random sources throughout the week," Lili said.

The shear number shocked Night.....she was like a living wet dream.

But after taking a minute to calm his thoughts, the quantity seemed reasonable when Night looked at it from a cultivation standpoint. She was only taking a portion of their soul energy...not an entire soul's energy like the Keres did. Lili would need a good number of Sources to draw in enough power to advance.

As he sat there absorbing this new information, Night glanced over at the woman next to him with more apprehension.

Lili apparently had sex with a lot of men.....but only in those men's dreams...only he got her in real life....technically, she was still a virgin...until she actually had sex and made the him into her soul slave....the whole thing was fucking weird.

Honestly, Night didn't even know what to feel about it when he strung it all together.....the cultural differences were getting to be a bit much.....no wonder she was an expert at the things she did to him earlier in the day.

'I need to get the things I want and get out of here,' Night thought once everything fell into line for him, 'Quickly.'

He didn't see this ending well for him if he stayed, but he needed to get a few things done before he left. Hopefully a few days time would be enough to get his tasks complete....Lili had told him the meeting with her mother would be in 4 days....before then he would leave and try to make his way to another desert city.....maybe one that didn't have succubi.

"Oh....okay," Night responded as he got back on track with his thoughts, "I won't kill him if you don't want me to then."

Lili smiled a very big smile and said ,"No, kill this one to set an example. Maybe that will keep the others away. I am very close to promoting to Demigod of Lust....I can only spare one Source...so I don't want the others coming to challenge you and dying too...so you better kill this one brutally."

Night was left slack-jawed...again. This fun loving woman that seemed to be almost simple at times had completely shattered his view of her in a few sentences.

"Oh....okay...I'll kill him brutally then," Night said with a shrug of his shoulder as he changed the subject to something he could better understand.

An awkwardly silence fell over the carriage.

"So, you are training to become a Demigod of Lust?," Night asked to break the pause.

"Yes.....us Succubi are born with a talent in reading emotions and have a natural tendency towards lust....it is what we are," Lili said with a shrug to her shoulders.

'It is what we are,' Night repeated to himself mentally. That really made sense to him. He had still been looking at everything that was going on through the eyes of David....the normal human from Earth. He wasn't on Earth anymore and these weren't even humans....He was going to stop trying to interpret everything based on his preconceived standards....it was a weakness of his....he had thought demons were somewhat normal....until the last two days.

When they first arrived, massive drums sounded from the walls of the arena to let everyone in the area know that a fight was about to take place. A few minutes later, people were flocking into the arena like crazy.

Still dressed in his nice robes, Night stared across the arena at a shirtless man twice his size. The man's two bull-like horns reflected the torches encircling the arena.

Night had performed a quick check with his perception to determine that the Kimaris Clan member in front of him was only a Level 2 Demigod. It should be an easy fight.

Now, as they were waiting for the official announcer, Night had actually sat down to contemplate his plan of attack. He was originally just gonna let the Keres destroy the man's soul, but then Lili had asked him to be brutal. While he was a bit startled by her suggestion, he agreed with her a hundred percent...that's why he wanted the death match in the first place. He needed to set an example to keep the challengers from causing fight after fight.

By the time the official arrived, Night had his general game plan and was ready to start the fight.

The official stood atop a platform at the side of the arena stage. Night looked around and noticed at large crowd had formed in the arena despite the hour of night. There had to be around three thousand people present in the seating area. It was about half of the way full. After looking around at the faces in the crowd for a minute or so, Night brought his attention back to the arena official standing on the raised platform at the edge of the stage.

"Everyone, Welcome to the Arena!," the announcer said in a echoing voice. The crowd went wild. The man was holding some sort of stone up to his throat that seemed to be projecting his voice to everyone.

"Tonight, we have an unexpected death match between Groven Fullhorn of the Kamiris Clan and Night, the Chosen of Lilith Dreamwalker of the Limim Clan. No one leaves the arena until one is dead," the announcer projected his voice over the entire arena, "Now since these gentlemen look ready....Let's start the fight."

At the announcers words, the brutish Groven moved toward Night pretty rapidly. As he neared, Night felt an intense gravity fall upon the entire platform.

'Damn, looks like he is a Demigod in the Truth of Earth. Appears to be Gravity Concept too,' Night thought to himself while modifying his plan slightly. He had wanted to end this quickly and violently but the durability of the concepts of the Truth of Earth would be troublesome for a quick kill.

Running through his options, the only concept that Night had that wasn't influence by the increased gravity was his Shadow Concept. When he was in the shadows, the pressure of four-times gravity wouldn't effect him much. But he couldn't attack unless he released the shadow concept for a moment.

Night suddenly had an idea. Maybe he could use the Shadow Concept, but hide the shadow by changing his appearance with the Presence Concept. That way he could set a trap and perform a surprise attack.....he had heard the Kamari's Clan members weren't that smart after all.

As the man was still moving forward in his first attack, Night activated both concepts at once. Then, he started to step backward like he was struggling to escape...he needed the setup in order to fake weakness. The Kimaris Clan was known for their strength and close combat skills...so his opponent would have to draw in close to finish the job.

Sure enough, Groven moved forward quickly in an effort that seemed like he was trying to grasp Night in a wrestling move. Night repeatedly dodged the incoming attacks while showing a strained expression on his face. To the entire audience, it seemed like he was starting to get tired from the repeated dodging under the heavy gravity. In reality, the gravity wasn't really effecting him....and he wasn't tired at all.

"I wasn't expected you to be so weak," Groven said as moved forward to attack Night. As the man moved in to attack, Night acted like he slipped and fell down to a knee.

As Groven got closer, Night's performance continued as he seemed to struggle to stand. His plan was working, he just needed the horned man to step a little bit closer.

He saw two feet appear directly in front of him. Night lunged upward with his knife as he relaxed the Shadow Concept. He knew as soon as he released the shadow concept, then the increased gravity would hit him hard. To compensate for the increased gravity, Night exerted his full might as he drove his knife up with both hands.

He may have overcompensated for the gravity because his knife connected with the man's groin and traveled all the way up to his breastbone before coming to a stop. As soon as his knife felt some resistance, Night immediately dropped back down and rolled out of the way. He wasn't going to risk getting grabbed because he lingered on the attack too long.

The crowd gasped as the Groven's own Gravity Concept pulled all of his internal organs out his body cavity out the opening Night provided. Guts and organs spilled out onto the platform and splashed down in a mush pressed down by the increased gravity.

The big man's eyes were wide in pain and panic at the sight of his own insides. Surprisingly, when the man's breast bone had stopped Night's knife.....it had also kept the knife from hitting his heart. He didn't die immediately but stood there for a second before falling to his knees. Night slipped around to stand behind the man and had already pulled out another knife. Dual wielding his knifes, Night drove both into the man's shoulders crippling his arms....then he kicked him over on the ground.

"I wasn't expecting you to be so stupid," Night said as the man just sort of flopped on the ground for a few minutes before his life slowly faded from his body.

The crowd had already grown silent.....they had seen bloody battles before...but they had never seen such a one sided slaughter.

In the silence of the arena, Night just looked over at the other men that had previously issued a challenge and said, "Who's next?"

______________________________

After winning the fight and detering the other challengers, Lili had practically mauled him in the carriage on the ride back. It seemed that witnessing him battle really turned her on.

However, Lili had actually left him completely alone all night.....she said that she needed to go cultivate....and well.....her cultivation resources were only asleep at night.

Although she had woke him in the next morning with a pleasant surprise, Night had already firmly decided that he would leave in a few days.

Lili just wanted to stay in bed with him all day again. However, Night managed to resist. Against her wishes, Night had convinced Lili that they needed to go shopping for some supplies.

Night had won against his challenger last night...and as expected, the violent outcome had deterred the other challengers.....for now. However, Night had used the potential for more challenges as a reason for his need to go shopping. He needed a few weapons and other equipment just in case of a battle. The fact that the shopping was to increase her man's strength.....Lili gladly obliged and even gave him a sack of stones to use. She even wanted to go with him.

But after arriving in the crafting area of the Sabnock Clan, Lili had looked a bit disgusted at the dirty conditions and excused herself to go look at a nearby dress store while Night dealt with his "man stuff." She had told Night that she would just meet him back at the house.

Walking up to a few of the workers nearby, Night asked around a bit for the best blacksmith in the City. After asking a few workers, Night received unanimous recommendations from the group to visit a small Sabnock Clan blacksmith named Bal.

After a quick little walk, Night found the blacksmith shop and walked inside.

"How can I help you, young man?," the man behind the counter said. From the looks of it, this man was Bal Sabnock.

Night walked over to the man with abnormally large arms near the counter. He quickly flipped his hand to pull one of the golden nuggets from his storage ring.

"Wow! Where did you get such nice golden mithril?," the blacksmith asked.

"I took it from someone who wanted to kill me," Night said, "Is it worth alot?"

"Ahhhh...it isn't worth as much as silver mithril, but it is rarer. Golden mithril is silver mithril with impurities of gold within so it isn't as strong as silver mithril.....but it is excellent for high cost decorations on weapons."

"Oh....do you want to buy it?," Night asked.

"No, I am good on my supply, so I would recommend taking it to one of the auction houses. They are always looking for rare items," the old man said. For some reason, this old man reminded Night of Mr. Lester back on Earth. He couldn't help be wonder how him and Karine were doing.

"Alright then, I would like to make an express order for some custom gauntlets if possible. I need them in two days," Night said.

The two chatted for some time about Nights requirements. Night ended up having to offer over half of the stones Lili had given him and one of the gold mithril ores in order to get the old man to agree. He had told Night that he would get to work immediately and the order would be ready in two days.

After finishing with his blacksmith order, Night had gotten a recommendation for a gem craftsman from the blacksmith. Night had one more custom item that he needed made before leaving the city. Night started walking to the Bathin Clan craftsman area since it was only about two miles away.

After walking for about twenty minutes, Night looked at a little piece of paper to check the directions to the Bathin Clan workshops. Feeling a little disoriented in this unfamiliar place, he continued walking down the street as he read overhead signs to find the right shop. With a sudden feeling of threat, Night sensed something dangerous headed rapidly towards him from a side alley.
