Sarah calmly followed behind Huo as she led her to where Tian Long and Jian were currently residing.
On the way to the room Huo had continually explained to Sarah about the various details surrounding the reason that she had been unconcious till now.
Sarah was actually surprised that the assassin had something like a cursed blade, as from her ancestral memories, she recalled that to curse a weapon that numerous lives had to be sacrificed. Nevermind the fact that the cost to bring out an effect such as the one on the blade the assassin had would require millions of souls to be sacrificed to gain the effect of tormenting someone by making them face their heart's demons.
Sarah was also surprised that this realm contained something like the soul cleansing lotus as she also knew the herb from her memories. The soul cleansing lotus was a herb that only peak mortal realms could produce. In fact, depending on if this realm was truly a peak mortal realm, then the soul cleansing lotus would be among the list of peak herbs that the mortal realm could produce.
A warm current flowed in Sarah's heart as she heard about how worried Tian Long was for her which carried a faint hint of sweetness as she heard the lengths that he had gone to just to get the flower. Of course some details were omitted due to either Huo not daring to say anything about a certain subject (Cough, Cough. Da Xin.) or that she genuinely didn't know since she had practically no time to even hear what they had done during their journey as she had started the procedure almost immediately.
Arriving outside the door Huo gave it a knock. Opening the door was Tian Long holding Da Xin as she playfully giggled while he plsyed with her.
"Huo? What is i... ..." Tian Long was originally going to ask Huo what was wrong since she almost never leaves Sarah's side however before he could finish what he was originally going to say he spotted Sarah slightly behind Huo as she charmingly smiled at him. If it weren't for Da Xin he would have rushed up to Sarah and hugged her whilst pinching himself to make sure that this wasn't a dream.
It was then that he noticed that her gaze had landed on to Da Xin and he slightly faltered as he tried calmly asking them to come in. Tian Long was currently under so much stress as he tried to think of ways to explain the current situation to Sarah however before he had the chance Sarah said something that shocked him.
"Looks like someone has chosen their mate." Although she was still smiling as she chose her spot to sit in, Tian Long could sense a chill going down his spine and a chill brushing against his family jewels which made him slightly clamp his legs as he truly didn't know what Sarah would do. The bigger question Tian Long had in mind was, 'How the hell does she know? Not even Jian knows'. What Tian Long didn't know was that although he could hide it from a human and snake-human, he couldn't hide it from an authentic beast who was also from a lineage no worse than his own who had also inherited memories of such rituals being done by other beasts.
"I-I-I. S-S-Sarah. I-I-It i-isn't wh-what it l-looks like." Tian Long stuttered under the piercing gaze of Sarah that was making him feel chills all over which his subconcious told him wouldn't be chills if he couldn't explain himself properly.
"Really?" Sarah calmly interrogated Tian Long whilst Huo sat at the side confused with the dialogue going on considering the fact that Sarah said 'mate' instead of 'fiancee', it made it sound like they were beasts however they would have to be high level beasts to be able to take human form.
Tian Long then went into the long story of telling them what happened during the journey to the mountains... this time without omitting any details, including the fact that he transformed into a dragon. Not just into any dragon, but The Azure Dragon who is fabled to be the strongest of the primordial divine beasts. At first Huo was surprised and shocked to the core as her beliefs were rocked from the foundations as everyone was taught that every beasts is bloodthirsty and should be killed on sight. Huo still hadn't found out that Sarah was also the descendant of a primordial divine beast that was not inferior in the slightest to The Azure Dragon back in the beginning of the universe.
Midway the explanation a sweaty Jian entered the room and was surprised when he saw Sarah in the room however he let it go for now since Tian Long was currently telling them about their journey. Jian then went for a bath and then sat silently on one of the beds whilst contemplating about something.
At first Huo and Sarah wished to greet Jian however they, like Jian, understood that it would be rude if they interupted Tian Long just to greet Jian therefore just nodded at him. Sarah at first looked at Jian with guilty eyes as she saw the empty space that Jian's arm used to occupy however she quickly got over it. That is not to say that she doesn't still feel guilty, she just knows that if she looks at him with guilt every time they meet he would feel uncomfortable and would eventually not be able to bear such treatment.
Hours went by as Tian Long continued to describe his journey. It was already in late evening by the time Tian Long had even gotten to the part where he had fallen unconcious, and that was only becasue of the short breaks he would have to take to feed or change Da Xin.
Sarah and Huo quickly gathered their attention on Tian Long as he then described how he was saved by someone who was from the divine realm and that he was taken back to their cottage and then struck a deal to give them a drop of his heart's blood in exchange for the man who saved him to get the lotus for him.
At this point Sarah cast him an apologetic glance as although he had taken a baby as a mate, how could she get angry when it was for her well being. Tian Long noticed the apologetic glance and then sighed within his head as he knew that everything was likely to not blow over the top.
After that Tian Long continued on and lightly summarised his time at the cottage and told them about him resisting the tribulation lightning. By the time Tian Long had gotten to the point where they were back here it was late at night.
Noticing the time Sarah then sat up and then bode farewell to Tian Long and Jian and said that she would meet them tomorrow morning so that they could talk more. Huo sat up and followed Sarah as she also bode them farewell. Tian Long smiled and also said goodbye whilst Jian who was still ruminating over his decision nodded to show that he acknowledged that he had heard them.
Hey,
I have edited a few chapters here and there where I have noticed some mistakes.
I have made a poll for you guys to ask whether you want Jian to stay with the group or not:
