Kapitel 31: Travel and Progress Part 1
Since they had left ******** Town they hadn't stopped except for a few towns where Sarah pulled the same trick with Tian Long again, only Jian was also involved so he could gain more experience by challenging others as Sarah just wished to get to the Academy as soon as possible as the more time she spends travelling the less time she spends training and levelling.
~Two weeks after leaving ******** Town~
So far Sarah and the others had travelled past a few villages and a couple towns, most villages actually turned out to be Bandit villages where the bandits would pretend to be normal people and lure in travellers with various tricks such as food, a place to sleep and even brothels. Most of the fights were anti-climactic as bandits only got up to Rank 1, it was rare that a bandit made it past that and entered Rank 2. The only downside that Sarah has found travelling with others is that she didn't get as much experience as she couldn't be greedy and stop them from fighting as from their perspective they are making sure she doesn't get herself hurt. Although she was grateful for them feeling that way for her she was also pissed that they were in her way of gaining experience faster however just within these two weeks alone she has already run into three bandit villages which means that she will get plenty of experience as she still has more than two months until they actually arrive at the city where the academy resides.
Thanks to Huo's efforts Sarah had been slowly opening up though she was still in nature cold to them out in the open but cared deeply for them within, even Tian Long which made him ecstatic until she essentially friend-zoned him which made him pout and complain in an aggrieved manner however Sarah made him shut up instantly by saying
"Complain one more time and you won't even be allowed back in this carriage, nervermind the 'friend-zone'"
Tian Long had stopped his complaining completely however he had yet to be discouraged as he believed that he would eventually add a 'boy' in front of that 'friend' title no matter how long it'll take as he knows that although she still has her cold exterior her heart had slightly thawed since the others joining which made him happy yet sad as he wished that it was him that caused her heart to thaw yet beggars can't be choosers.
Jian was still, at least on the outside, as neutral as ever. Huo however had been making countless advantages on Sarah whether it be flirting or casual touching. Tian Long had already warned her about Sarah's aversion to being touched like that. However Sarah didn't react like how she reacted with him which got him thinking maybe it was an aversion to men's touch rather than touch altogether. Thanks to Huo making those advances however had helped Sarah move forward even if by an inch away from her past trauma which helped her cope more and less narrow-minded against men.
~One month later~
Nothing to note worthy of mentioning besides that Sarah had levelled twice thanks to a beast horde that had escaped from the local forest moving towards human civilisation to wreak havoc. There was three leaders of the horde which were at Rank 1 Level 1, 3 & 4. Jian had been told to take on the Rank 1 Level 1, Huo was to take on the Rank 1 Level 3 whilst Tian Long and Sarah take on the Rank 1 Level 4. Dean was to take care of as many minions as possible.
Thanks to that horde Jian who had already been on the cusp of Ranking up thanks to the experience from the bandits Ranked up becoming Rank 1 Level 1 however he was still unable to break the boundary to the next stage of swordsmanship no matter what he tried. Huo who had already levelled thanks to the bandits to Rank 1 Level 2 had levelled to Rank 1 Level 3. Tian Long hadn't gained any breakthrough however he was infinitely closer to breaking through to Rank 3 but doing so he would need to go into seclusion away from humans as your body needs to revert back to beast form before starting the Rank up process. Dean had also become a Rank 1 Level 1 as he had disposed of a lot of minions before the others could back him up, he was even lucky enough to comprehend his own innate skill that belongs only to him until he teaches it to another. The skill that he had comprehended was Speed of Hermes which uses the surrounding wind element and condenses it around the feet condensing into feathers which attach to both sides of the ankle. The more comprehension of the wind he has the more speed he can gain and the longer he can keep it up.
Sarah apart from levelling also broke the barrier to the Sword Student Boundary as she broke through whilst fighting with the beast alongside Tian Long as the beast had knocked her away and pounced at the unprepared Tian Long, about to watch him die in front of her she wished for nothing more than to cut up the beast in front of her, in that moment in time it was only her, the sword and the objective, nothing else. In that state she broke through gaining the boost needed to defeat the beast.
Tian Long, although had seen death, had not wavered instead it pushed him into becoming more powerful to stop anything from harming himself and those he cares for. This incident pushed him to become the first Dragon since his ancestor to ascend past divinity and become something more.
