Hearing this, Elder Qiao held his head height and then stepped into the office.
Behind him, Rong Yue Wan followed but Kang Jun looked at the girl coldly and said, "Only Elder Qiao."
Rong Yue Wan looked at Elder Qiao for a second, hoping the man would force Kang Jun's hand and allow her to stay, but instead, the man said,
"Leave us."
It left Rong Yue Wan no choice but to stay behind. Her face completely pale.
Once alone, Kang Jun took a seat and then leaned back in it. He wrapped one of his arms over his chest and he placed his elbow on the back of his hand, as he brushed his lips with his fingers.
"Speak."
Kang Jun said those words commandingly, belittling Qiao Jianhong on purpose.
The old man sent death glares towards Kang Jun before he spoke.
"What are you planning?"
Kang Jun wasn't sure what the man was talking about, but he still calmly answered.
"Is that any of your business?"
A vein began to bulge on Qiao Jianhong's forehead.
"When it concerns my granddaughter and my best friend, of course, it's my business. When a selfish person like you tries to hurt the family my best friend has built and the one my granddaughter has nurtured, I can't just sit back and watch it happen!" Qiao Jianhong's voice was firm and full of virtue. The man though himself as just.
This disgusted Kang Jun to no end.
Of course, Kang Jun knew that the man would bring those two up. If he didn't, there would be no way for the man to justify himself.
He wasn't sure what had brought Qiao Jianhong to his office but one thing he was sure about was that it involved Qiao Lan, and everything that involved Qiao Lan seemed to cause Kang Jun trouble.
Though this time, the connection to the girl was more indirect that anything else. This time, it was Qiao Jianhong's delusional mind that triggered him.
Qiao Jianhong: "Whatever you're planning, you better stop now. Your family is in a delicate spot right now. One wrong move and you never know what could happen."
Kang Jun let out a laugh. It wasn't full of humor though, instead, it was dark and ominous. Leaning forward, Kang Jun put his fingers on his desk and tapped it rhythmically.
"A senile old man like you has the guts to come into my office and spout nonsense to me?" Kang Jun then leaned back into his chair with arms and legs crossed. "You've wasted my time. Get out."
Qiao Jianhong's face twisted in anger. He was about to throw a slap across Kang Jun's face but the cold man sat far from the man's reach. So instead, he slammed his fist on the Kang Jun's desk.
Several papers flew off the desk and landed onto the ground.
Kang Jun stared blankly at Qiao Jianhong who looked like he had won. The old man believed that his act of violence had scared Kang Jun, but it didn't.
Staring at Elder Qiao, a wave of annoyance passed through Kang Jun.
Was he really was satisfied with just that? Ridiculous.
Kang Jun took out his phone, dialled a number, put it on speaker phone and then tossed it on his desk.
"Rong Xin, what do you specialize in?" Kang Jun asked, nonchalantly.
There was no silence before he answered. Rong Xin had found it strange that he was asking but, he didn't allow his mind to wander.
"Espionage and assassination."
"Thank you, now go back to what you were doing"
Lifting his eyes to meet Qiao Jianhong's, Kang Jun's expression was cold. The whole room began to fill with a cold pressure.
"Are you threatening me?" Qiao Jianhong said through clenched teeth.
"Take it as you like, Elder Qiao... but don't you forget. You threatened me first. Let me tell you this. I don't have time for the likes of the Qiao family. Stay out of my way and then everything will be fine. My business is mine alone and it had nothing to do with you or your granddaughter."
Hearing this, Qiao Jianhong's face turned red.
Pushing himself up with a slam, Qiao Jianhong's mouth turned into a smirk. "Little boy, you don't know what kind of enemy you've just made."
That wasn't true. Kang Jun knew but it was not something he could stop. Kang Jun had not looked for trouble with either Qiao Lan or Elder Qiao. Both of them provoked him and he had never been the type to not reciprocate. Whatever the other did, Kang Jun was keeping a mental note of it and whatever they did in the future the man would internalize it also.
In the end, Kang Jun would keep score until the day he decided that he would give it back to them 100 fold.
He had never liked the Qiao's anyway.
Once the elder was gone, Kang Jun called Mr. Long into the room.
"Fire the security guard and the receptionist who spoke to Qiao Jianhong."
Mr. Long nodded. "Yes, sir."

Qiao Jianhong entered his house like a storm. Everything he came into contact with was thrown, torn or shattered and he didn't stop. Not even when Rong Yue Wan or the housekeeper interfered.
How dare that brat, Kang Jun, treat him like that!
The boy was going to pay! Qiao Jianhong promised this.
When the man was done, the room was a complete mess but he didn't acknowledge that he was the one who caused it. Instead, he said,
"Clean this mess up."
Without wasting any time, the housekeeper began to clean up, while Rong Yue Wan looked at the old man with a frown.
It had been a long time since she'd seen the man's temper. It was horrid and she hated seeing him like that, but he had brought it upon himself. Why did he have to go and see Kang Jun? If he hated the man so much, Rong Yue Wan though that it would be best to avoid Kang Jun.
As much as she herself wanted to see the man every single day when it came to her job, she didn't allow her emotions to control her. Her uncle had taught her that.
Watching Qiao Jianhong, Rong Yue Wan sharpened her gaze.
The man shakily stood. She thought it was because of the fury still coursing through his veins.
For a moment, Qiao Jianhong remained still and silent. Breathing hard, the old man felt his upper lip numb, his jaw was sore and he felt a sudden urge to puke.
It burned at his throat, but Qiao Jianhong showed no weakness.
Walking to the stairs, the old man pretended as if everything was fine but suddenly his vision began to blur. At this point, he was at the door of the stairs. He clutched onto the railing helplessly, as he looked down and tried to control his breathing.
"Are you alright, sir?"
Rong Yue Wan ran up to the man, and put her hand's gently around his body, to support him.
Beside her, Qiao Jianhong struggled to speak.
He felt a pressing on the left side of his chest. It was light at first but in quickly worsened into an ache. It was as if someone were digging their nails into his chest with the goal of ripping out his heart. The pain got worse and worse until he felt as if he could no longer breathe.
Dropping to his knees, Qiao Jianhong gasped for a breath. He scratched at his chest and throat aimlessly. He hoped for a sweet release, but there was no such thing.
Qiao Jianhong collapsed into Rong Yue Wan's arms.
