There was a grin on Liena's face when she saw that dirty white robe. She chased after it and grabbed the corner of his clothes to stop him.
The robe owner turned his face and glared at her. Liena was very disappointed when she saw that face because he was an old man.
Feeling embarrassed, Liena bowed her head to apologize to him. Despite being a princess, she was very courteous.
Observing how polite the girl was, the old man smiled and nodded at her like it was normal and left.
'As expected'- Liena murmured while breathing a sigh of relief.
It was normal. She expected this result when she started following that person. She was happy that none of the guards spotted this embarrassing incident.
When Liena was ordering Head guard Ruao Xie and the others to find someone without giving a proper clue, there were reasons behind it. First, she wasn't sure she could find that person on her own. She didn't believe she saw an illusion. Ruo Xie was an expert martial artist and there were three more; obviously, it will be easier if they worked together and split up this area searched for that person.
Secondly, she was kind of dishonest! She wanted to shoo them away before confirming the identity one her own.
The thing she did not mention Ruo Xie was that she was looking for someone who looked exactly like her deceased Brother!
She already stirred up so many troubles for her family; she didn't want to bother them more. She wanted to make sure before telling anyone because she was afraid that people would call her a lunatic and spread nasty rumors that would hurt her parents.
Thinking of her parents, Liena became emotional. She knew how much they loved her despite everything happened and never blamed her.
She felt that maybe she did a lot of good deeds in her previous life to be fortunate enough to have them as her parents. For now, she didn't want to cause more troubles for them. Obviously, if the results were positive, they would be the first to know.
'If my guess is right they will be overjoyed…' thinking about that, she felt warmth in her heart.
'But how could someone look exactly like my brother? Could it be possible! It would have to be a miracle or magic right?'
She shook her head disapprovingly at her own musings. She did not believe in magic or miracles. If it really existed, then how could that incident steal her brother away? And why did people lose their lives in wars?
Princess Liena did not understand anything at all.
As she was engrossed in these speculations, she became oblivious of how much time had passed and which alley she walked through.
More than an hour passed but she still could not find that person. Princess finally discerned that she must have delusions. She should return now. Everyone must be extremely anxious, especially her mother. She'd been outside alone for a long time without any guards; her mother must have already informed the palace, she thought.
She would investigate her doubts later, after returning to the palace.
As she turned around about to leave, suddenly she smelled sweet aromas coming out from food stalls. There were at least thirty food stalls near where she was standing. Sheng City was famous for food, especially fish dishes since it was a river city.
Suddenly her stomach growled very loudly. Princess' face turned red like a tomato hearing her own stomach scandalously betray her in front of people. She felt disgraceful! 'This had surely never happened before!'
She never walked so much. Even in the palace, she would not stroll for very long. It was reasonable that she would be hungry after such a tiring workout.
Some shop owners placed benches in front of their shops to attract customers since it was tourist season.
Princess Liena nervously entered to a luxurious restaurant. The shop owner, as well as the waiters' eyes, became big. It was not normal for a lady to enter a restaurant without bringing their escort unless they were poor or beggars. But noticing how sophisticated she looked, the waiter who was standing close to her, understood that she might come from a noble family.
'She's very unusual for a noble girl', he thought.
Although his mind was full of questions, he did not have the courage to ask.
So he smilingly greeted to welcome her into his restaurant and gave her the best table. Liena nodded and elegantly sat down.
She ordered some foods suggested by the waiter, and absentmindedly observed her surroundings through the window while she ate.
Suddenly she glimpsed a familiar face.
Surprise and joy flashed in her eyes; she left her food, hurriedly paid the bill, and rushed outside.
The waiter was stunned to see that she paid with five gold coins! His shock quickly changed to glee!
"Today is surely a good day; we earned a lot," he announced to the owner and his colleagues with a giggle.
This time there was no mistake; the person indeed looked exactly like her baby brother. She was about to call out but stopped abruptly as she glimpsed that person's eyes.
She had never seen such eyes! Not only were they different colors, but they were each uniquely beautiful and lustrous. It was as God had created those eyes with his own hands!
One was deep blue like the depth of the ocean and the other was green like a forest on a mountain.
They were unbelievably beautiful and mysterious.
Surely this wasn't her brother; he was already dead!
But why did some stranger look so much like him?
Moreover, that person was a girl.
Liena became confused.
