Some of the survivors hesitantly sat down while others puffed up their chests with even more determination. 

Not only were their numbers reduced, many of them were injured. At this point, it was more important to get out of here alive. That allied group was in much better condition than them so getting out of here can just be left to them as Ascendant Monuments automatically unlock itself and dissipate when someone clears it. If even they couldn't clear the Monument, then it was even more impossible for them who were injured and few in number.
