Kapitel 18: The Results are out!
After, their mother gave their father a quick kiss on the cheek causing him to perk up again, the blissful couple was out of sight.
"Whew, he's finally gone" a voice came from above Nicole's head. She looked up to meet her brother's mischievous face grinning down at her.
"Brother, you're not thinking of..." Nicole said in disbelief; she just couldn't believe how reckless her brother was.
"Uh-huh!" He replied with a grin before walking past Nicole and heading in the opposite direction their parents had just gone.
"Brother!" Nicole called out exasperatedly as she followed this willy brother of hers.
As they approached a familiar wall, Nicole watched her brother scale up with ease and finally couldn't take it anymore, "If you leave now I'm not gonna cover for you!"
The figure on top of the wall paused for a second before sending a devilish grin in her direction, "I don't think so."
"And why not?"
"Because a certain someone still owes me for losing their gift last time."
Nicole paused for a second before letting out a relieved breath, just like before their brother easily forgave her. She couldn't be thankful enough to have such a great brother.
"You're so petty!" Nicole said in mock anger, but she had basically given in to his demands.
Seeing this, their brother chuckled before jumping down the wall and with that he was gone. Nicole shook her head in resignation before turning around to meet two sour faces that looked more than a little displeased at being ignored by everyone for so long.
She only realized now, other than the nod her father gave to Anderson, and the few words he said to Veronica no one else had bothered to acknowledge them more than that.
At some point, everyone else had probably forgotten about their existence after that.
Knowing the kind of attention hogs she was dealing with, she figured they must have been truly vexed, but she wasn't in the mood to be accommodating.
Nicole simply claimed to be tired and excused herself.
Anderson said a few words reminding her to take care of herself, but the tone was not as sincere as when he first arrived. It seemed as if being ignored had made him quite sour.
Veronica was worse she just nodded with a stiff face.
Nicole looked at the pair, and all she could say was, they were made for each other!
Nicole soon left the scene, and this little episode was finally over.
After she left, Anderson bid goodbye to Veronica and saw himself out, his anger growing with each step as he had never seen himself out before.
Veronica had only nodded to him and not offered to escort him out causing him to feel belittled. Veronica, on the other hand, was still vexed about the attention Nicole was receiving so she didn't pay attention to the boy with prince syndrome.
Still, even if she had not been angry, she would see it beneath herself to escort Anderson out. Though their families had close ties with Anderson's, his family's status was way below that of the Reyna's.
If it wasn't for Nicole's attachment to Anderson in their childhood years, his family wouldn't even have had the opportunity to propose an engagement that didn't benefit the Reyna's in any way. Additionally, Anderson's family wouldn't have grown to the level they had without relying on the Reyna's but they wouldn't be so lucky this time.
From the looks of this, it could be seen that Nicole was planning to distance herself from Anderson so his family couldn't stick to the Reyna's. Without the Reyna's help, Anderson wouldn't even be worth her time.
Thus she was going to leave him to his own devices for the time being, but she would get her revenge sooner or later.
Anderson, on the other hand, was not having it.
Nicole had always escorted him, and he had grown used to it.
Actually, he was escorted out by a servant girl this time, and a large number of servants saw him out which was more than befitting his status, but Nicole's past self had obviously spoiled him rotten. It was to the point that he thought they were of equal standings.
At this point, he might even think he is above her.
And Nicole plans to let him slowly learn the real difference between them.
The next morning Nicole woke up to meet a very bright-faced Veronica. After yesterday, Nicole had thought Veronica would want to avoid her at least for a little while, but she was surprisingly clingy today.
No one else was at home at the moment for Veronica to put on an act for making her actions all the more baffling.
Soon Nicole realized why.
Today the audition results were released but getting the position of the white swan shouldn't be enough to make her this happy unless...
