Kapitel 87: War Part Three

Rune's head whips around and searches for her. It can't be.. she's not in any shape to be out here! His eyes come to a stop when he sees her standing on the castle wall looking like a goddess of war as lightening flashes around her answering her call. No! Rune grits his teeth and wants to grab her and bring her back inside where she'll be safe but Ryder attacks again making it impossible.

After waking up with the healers surrounding me it takes a moment or two before my brain catches up. Rune had found me.. he took me back. Fig and I are safe now.. I look over to see Fig being healed as well and we make eye contact. We made it out alive. I smile and he returns it.

Suddenly there's a loud boom and the whole room shakes. The healers grit their teeth as bits and pieces fall from the walls and ceilings but continue to pour their powers into the stones surrounding Fig and I. "What's wrong? What's happening?" I ask and sit up. The healer quickly says "You aren't well enough to sit up my lady please lay down."

I shake him off and say "Tell me what's happening!" He hesitates for a moment before saying "Ryder has brought his army and we are now under attack. My lord is out fighting.. he will be fine." The healer looks as if he's trying to convince himself more than me.. I frown and jump off the bed. Fig quickly follows and jumps onto my shoulder.

The healer yells for us to stop and come back but I ignore his pleas and race to the front of the castle. My heart beats wildly in my chest when I hear the sounds of war and see the large gates closed. I race to the side pushing my way through the men. I run up the stairs that lead to the top of the wall and I'm hit with a powerful breeze that carries the smell of metal and blood.

I suck in when I see the battle below with all the death and destruction. Everywhere you look was countless battles as fae fought to the death. I start searching for Rune when Fig says "There!" I look to where he's pointing and see the intense battle. My heart races and I bite my lip. I even see Leon and his men locked in battle.

I try to calm my racing heart when I notice that our side has the upper hand. A strong force blows across me from above and I look up to find battle ready dragons flying over head, blowing fire on the troops below. Mages were sending out wave after wave of powerful blast of magic into the opposing troops. Much like a canon.

I look back over to Rune and Ryder when I feel something change. Black coils of energy slither their way over and into Ryder as he calls up his evil creatures. My heart drops at the sheer number crawling their way out of the ground and into the fighting troops. I see the creatures attacking Rune's men and taking them down without much of a fight. If this continues we will lose... Fine, two can play this game.

"I'm going to lend a helping hand Fig.. do you want to come with me or stay?" Fig snorts and says "When have I ever let you do anything without me? Let's show them who they're messing with!" I smile and step up to the very edge. I close my eyes and focus. I call the lightening and open my eyes when I feel it answer. "Come.." I say as I lift my hand into the sky.
