33.33% Life Dealer System / Chapter 12: Poker Tournament (2)

Kapitel 12: Poker Tournament (2)

That nasty voice was from that middle age woman who looked like Yzma. Poisonous comments just as her looks. A perfect cartoon villain.

Bella frowned and said, "I was across the city for an important meeting, is not my fault that NY traffic sucks!" After that proceeded to seat beside me on the seat number 4.

I guess my 30 points of luck is the main culprit of this. It made me eager to see a way to increase the luck, imagine if I had 100 luck. I could grope woman accidentally like those ecchi novels and not get in trouble.

Hey, is not my fault that I'm thinking about groping girls when I have such beauty beside me. Either way, I can't manually increase luck and it seems unlikely that I could increase it myself like intelligence. Maybe, later on, I can find a way.

After a little of ill mouthing of the two women, we finally settled and wait for the dealer to begin. But behind the dealer appeared a man in a silver tuxedo that said:

"Welcome estimated customers, Pegasus Casino is eager to announce the start of the 17th annual poker tournament! The jackpot prize this time is 2.5 Million dollars for the first price, the second price is a sponsored publicity is their new poker mobile game and the last price is from us, the casino offers you 6 months free lodging for a suite here In this hotel! I have the obligation to tell you that you are being filmed and broadcast to a few customers across the globe since they find this entertain enough. Enjoy your game!"

After the silver tuxedo man disappeared we finally began the tournament. I quickly focused on the cards like my life was on the line, which technically it was. And after I quickly remembered all the cards on the table I began to activate my <Lachesis Eyes> for more information about the light brown hair goddess.

[Total life span: 90 years | Age: 24 | ???]

Oh, a good lifespan person on this addict game table. That's weird, maybe she is not an addict or she is really taking care of her body. But if she's not an addict why most people here have some kind of relationship with her? Maybe I can casually ask after or during the game.

I didn't have to wait long, on the first game the black hip-hop looking guy asked "So the old man keeps insisting to keep you coming for this kind of things? What was the porpoise again?" He said that while drinking from a gold chalice covered in precious stones

The middle age woman immediately said "The old man says that this kind of tournament is a good trying to practice reading people, that she needs to practice if she is gonna to succeed him"

Bella lightly smiled while looking at her cards while calling an incitement of two times the big blind. That was nothing else than $50k. Jesus these people don't play around. I had a good hand. I could easily win if I bluff my way and make the middle age woman fold.

But this was the first hand, besides I didn't have any blind yet. So it was freehand basically. I decided to fold this round and check their behavior particularly when I know they are bluffing so in case I have a blind spot I could use that knowledge.

Only the old guy with the gold wolf cane was hiding his cards, but he wasn't the first the be dealt so I had not a blind spot this round. I watched the round to unfold and it seems that the middle age woman didn't cower in front of Bella. Eventually, the ugly woman won a pot of 120k, not bad for the first round.

I decided to play conservatively and watch their bluffing. Especially the old man. But he was even more conservatively as me. So I have no idea when he was bluffing. He won a couple of rounds but never increased the pot. This kind of player is hard to read. I mostly won rounds worth 50k or so just to keep me out of the big blinds draining range.

Two of the tugs looking, people, had enough and made bad All-Ins and lose immediately. The big pot of this all-ins was won by the old man. This a good thing. Now I can see when he bluff and pushes away using his chips. But he was smarter, he only pushed away when he had a good hand or notice that anybody had a good hand.

It seemed like he had all-seeing eyes! Hey, I have those! Why I can't read people so well as him? Years of experience mate.

Another round was like a dick contest between the twins and the black man, ultimately being sweep by Bella who joined the fry. So now the biggest chip holders where Bella, then the old man, then the middle age woman and last was me.

When you reach the final stages of the tournament the big blinds are really fucking big. So we have to play pretty aggressively. I joined the fry when the two women were talking and betting with each other and managed to plunder a nice pot.

The middle age woman made a last attempt all-in the next round but lost to the old man. The current chips distribution were as followed: Bella - 1 Million, the old man 800k, and me 700k I was now almost equal to him, but less than Bella. Bella started a big increase in the blind for about 400k. Almost all my pot. She had a pair of J and there was also a J on the table. I have 2 hearts, a 5 and a 4. I checked and when the river hit I would have color.

I follow her bet and make an all-in, she accepted and the pot grows to 1.4 Million. It was not wrong to say that the winner of this round would be in the final round with the old man. So I joked and said "Are you sure this is a wise decision miss? Is almost A million and a half, that's a lot of money! Are you confident enough?"

She smiled and said to me while turning her face to me "I'm confident enough to risk almost a million of dollars that you are bluffing, even with all your disguise and sunglasses you can't hide your behavior!"

I smiled and said "Oh?" and didn't add anything, I made fake gestures to force the opponents to make this kind of wrong decisions. It seemed to work with her, but not with the old man.

The old man shacked his head and said "Miss, you don't have enough experience to deal with him, even as a rookie he's strange. But I could tell from a km away that that gesture was a fake one trying to bait you. I bet that he's more than confident enough to do that to you"

She paled a little bit and waited for the dealer to deliver the last card, my river and showed her my color. She chose to not show her cards but she obviously lost. The same history of the middle age woman repeated itself, she made a last-ditch effort and made an all in competing with the old man only to gift him more money.

I was left alone with 1.4 Million against the old man with 1.1 Million. It was a really tough couple of rounds, but I was better at reading his gestures for all my experience, it seems that my intelligence stat and my lucks that worked like a charm, he got pretty shitty hands that I could check after he folded.

Sometimes lucks plays a bigger part of the game, even if had more experience as me, I could see his cards and never fold before his bluffs. Not an exciting way to win a tournament, but a good way still.

I was finally the winner of the poker tournament and winner of the 2.5 Million of dollars, it was really like a dream come true.

The silver tuxedo man appeared behind the dealer again and said "Congratulations to the winners! I invite you to go to the next door room to check the view and chat a little bit, with the best food available!".
