33.33% Release That Boy! / Chapter 4: Roland’s thoughts

Kapitel 4: Roland’s thoughts

I just about to try to examine the memory of the body I reside in before I heard some noise. At first I just want to ignore it and continue my own business but the other part of my heart won't let me do so.

So I put aside my plan and want to go to look what had actually happened. Just as I open the door, I find a skinny young boy run, looking so… frail.

Like his body would be easily knocked away at anytime by the wind. And sure enough that boy almost fell and collapsed on the floor!

I catch him on reflex before he really touch that cold and hard floor.

The guards come and want to take him. They said this child was a thief that snuck in.

I quirk my eyebrow hearing that. But instead of giving this child to the guard, I carry him in princess style and told the servant to prepare a room for him.

Well, I actually just want to put him on my bed but I currently act as prince so I can't. No matter how unreasonable I am, now I still can't do it.

I waited beside him while trying to process my new memories until this child finally wake up.

His actions look so cute actually just like a frightened small kitten. One time he'll look panicked, other time confused, back to panicking again and then frightened. So amusing.

I stayed until he change his clothes with mine. And at that time…

"Deg!"

I feel something hit my heart. (*Editor runs after shooting the arrow*) Somehow I felt my heart beating loudly like a drum.

Honestly that young boy looks extremely cute, looking at me while wearing the big clothes of mine. I thought I was crazy for thinking something like that. So I just walk out before I did something crazy.

My heart is still beating quickly.

(OMG… what am I thinking. That was a young boy! A boy! Not woman!)

I doubt myself now or specifically the former Roland's sexual orientation. Was he a gay? Or bisexual? But when I recalled his memories, there are no such thing.

(What a minute, don't tell me it's really my sexual orientation that should be questioned?)

I couldn't believe myself for thinking such thing. But oh wait! There's some memories of Roland's childhood. Wait…

(What the fuck with that memories???!!! Shit I shouldn't look at that! Now I can't think like nothing happened. The little Roland in the past got sexually harassed by his private tutor!)

Was that the trigger?

But, he's not the only one with that of memories, I myself had that dark past but not as dark as the former Roland's memories!

No! I need to calm myself, I shouldn't prey on little boy like him.

….

That young boy almost made me forget about the little witch who is still in dungeon. If Barov didn't came and remind me, I would really about her.

Barov was waiting restlessly in the drawing room. The moment I appeared, he immediately hurried towards me and asked, "Your Highness, why didn't you order the execution yesterday?"

"One day earlier or one day later, what's the difference?" I said as I clapped my hands to order the servants to bring breakfast in. "Have a seat and let's talk."

It was in line with Roland's memory that the Chief Knight preferred to ask questions in front of other people, while the Assistant Minister usually chose to talk in private. In any case, I could trust both of them to be loyal to me, even though they probably did so as part of their duty to the king.

"Just one day may be enough for other witches to appear, Your Highness! This isn't like any other trivial matter, you cannot act as recklessly as before!!" Barov cautioned.

"Why are you also saying this?" I asked while frowning. "I thought you could distinguish between rumors and facts."

Barov looked bewildered. "What rumors?"

"That witches are evil and are the Devil's emissaries," I replied glibly. "Isn't this part of the Church's propaganda? If we don't want them to interfere in our affairs, we should do the opposite of what they say. We shall not deliberately hunt down witches, and instead publicize to our citizens that these are all shameless rumors spread by the Church."

Barov was shocked. "But… witches are really…"

"Evil?" I asked in reply. "How so?"

….

I curled my lips. It seems that reversing this myth about witches could not be done overnight, and I decided not to dispute it further for now.

Breakfast finally arrived on the table, consisting of fried bread, fried eggs and a carafe of milk. I first poured a cup of milk and offered it to Barov.

"You haven't had breakfast right? Let's eat as we talk."

….

I thought until here, and then said in a determined tone, "Take me to see her."

The Assistant Minister stood up in a flurry and accidentally knocked over the cup of milk that he had not drank. "Your Highness, you want to see the witch?"

"Yes, this is a command." I looked back and smiled at the Assistant Minister. In a way, I was thankful for Prince Roland's unbridled style.

As I walked over I suddenly remembered about that boy.

(Have he ate his breakfast?)

Then I visited his room before going to the dungeon.

Barov put an odd expression when he look at my behavior toward an unknown young boy.

He just sit blankly in bed when I come in. He got startled when he saw me. Then he blushed.

(Hey, hey stop that! You will invite wolf to your bed if you make that kinda expression!)

But against my expectation he became more seduc… cough cough I mean… cough. No, I mean shy.

Barov stare in disbelieve at my kind act towards this young boy. And I even asks him if he wants to come with me to the dungeon.

Barov almost scared to dead by my question to that young boy.

Well, I myself was wondering why I asked him to come with me to see that witch.

I thought this young boy will put a frightened reaction just like how Barov was when he heard my silly request. But no!

He didn't even show that kind of expression. He just blink innocently, pure yet kinda confused with my invitation before he agreed.

(Good!)

I almost jumped in happiness at his reply. But I'm not sure why I felt this happy.
