They all looked at Jin in shock. Did he really not know how to use a Word? And why did he look so confident while asking then about it? The boys all stared at Seokjin in shock. Hyosang was the first to break the silence as he started laughing.
"You are seriously something else, man."
As Hyosang laughed, the others all broke out of their stupor. Hoseok gave Seokjin a look of disbelief. Jungkook and Tae hyung looked at each other and chuckled to themselves. Yoongi just sighed. Namjoon scratched his head.
"OK, so this may take a little longer than planned."
Namjoon stepped forward and began to teach Seokjin slowly about how Word's work and their importance. As he began talking about the Energy Flux, Seokjin asked what that was. Namjoon realized he was going to need to start from the beginning and went into teaching mode. Namjoon knew that great power was lying within Seokjin, but they would need to put in the time and the effort to bring that power out.
And Seokjin was willing to put in the hard hours. He concentrated and absorbed everything that he was told. He diligently did his best to learn everything he needed to. As he learnt about the others and their abilities, he realized that he was definitely on the back foot. If he truly wanted to be a part of the team, he was going to have to train twice as hard as everyone else.
As Namjoon taught and went over the basics with Seokjin, the others all went about their business, working on their own projects. After half an hour of Namjoon teaching, Seokjin was able to memorize and absorb one of the Word's. Seokjin went silent as he closed his eyes. Namjoon let him be as he seemed to be comprehending something. Namjoon went to his desk and left Seokjin to meditate by himself.
The team continued to work for a while, until they all felt something in the room change. A powerful force seemed to fill the room up. Jungkook looked around, sensing what was in the air.
"I sense the Spirit Realm."
Namjoon turned to Jungkook with a questioning look. Jungkook nodded, telling Namjoon he was sure of the feeling. Namjoon then turned to Seokjin. The aura and energy seemed to be surging around Seokjin. Seokjin then opened his eyes. His eyes seemed to be hollow, his pupils seemed empty and cold. He then chanted quickly. The Adepts all felt the flow of the Energy Flux pulsating strongly off of Seokjin. They stared at him, waiting patiently to see what would happen.
Little balls of dark grey light then appeared around Seokjin. He looked at the lights floating around and felt that he could hear their voices. They were speaking to him. He turned to the practice dummy in the corner. One of the balls of light moved over to the dummy while another moved over to Yoongi''s desk. The light that was by the dummy glowed for a second before turning into what seemed like a swirling pool of light which swallowed the dummy and disappeared.
Seokjin turned to the grey light floating by Yoongi''s desk and concentrated hard for a second before it glowed in a similar way to the last one, becoming a swirling pool of grey light. Suddenly, the dummy reappeared, being spit out of the light and landing on Yoongi's desk before disappearing. Yoongi was surprised by the appearance of the dummy on his desk. Seookjin''s eyes slowly turned back to normal as he rubbed his eyes.
Namjoon and the others were all in shock at what had just happened. Namjoon in particular was deeply shaken. If this is what he thought it was, Seokjin may be a truly powerful addition to the team. He spoke to Seokjin.
"Hyung, did you just teleport that practice dummy across the room?"
Seokjin was still rubbing his eyes.
"Mmmm, yeah. That hurt more than I thought it would."
The boys all went silent. They processed what Seokjin just did. This was not only an extremely rare power, it was potentially game changing in a battle. Being able to move people, team mates, enemies, Hybrid Flux's, possibly even attacks and weapons to any designated part of the battlefield could completely turn the tide of a battle, taking your enemy by surprise and dominating them fully. It could be used in both attack and defense and was a powerful tool for controlling the battlefield.
Each of them understood the significance of having a power like this on their time. And he didn't just control space but also time. The combination of the two powers was an incredible power to wield in an Eidos team. They all stared in awe of this new hyung. Hyosang was even surprised you his friend.
"Jin-ah! Where did this insane power come from? The potential uses for these powers are limitless."
Seokjin continued rubbing his eyes.
"I'm actually surprised by this as well. I didn't expect that I could do this. But it is definitely draining to use."
Namjoon came over nodding.
"I think your understanding and control of the Energy Flux is the cause. The more you learn to ride and control it, the less taxing it will be for you. I think you would be best suited to continue as a Spirit Callers, which also means that you would grow a lot by growing a larger affinity to the Spirit Realm. Training and cultivating in this way would produce the most results and expand your capacity to use your abilities. You may be our ace in the hole if everything turns out well."
Seokjin looked around at the others. Jungkook and Tae hyung were both looking at him in awe. Hoseok had an excited gleam in his eye as he stared at him. Yoongi even looked at Seokjin impressed. Hyosang was giving him thumbs up and Namjoon was looking at him like he was an experiment he was waiting to try. Seokjin felt like this might be fun. A Spirit Callers. Eidos. He had never thought of pursuing this path and way of living.
After today, his dream had slowly began to shift and change.
Hoseok stood up.
"It's time for us to move over to the Battle Mage practice field. Training time."
The others all nodded as they grabbed their gear. Seokjin rubbed his eyes once more before following the others. They reached the practice area and Seokjin looked around at the domed arena in awe. Sung Deuk approached them holding two blades. He looked over at Seokjin.
"You must be Seokjin. I'm Son Sung Deuk. I'll be training you from own on to help you become a Battle Mage."
Seokjin bowed.
"It is nice to meet you there Teacher Sung Deuk. Please take care of me."
Sung Deuk nodded and handed him a blade.
"Let's see what you got. Just follow me."
Sung Deuk took up a simple stance before going through a few simple slashes. The others had all seen these slashes before and were quite used to them, having been made to drill them repeatedly. Seokjin nodded his head as he watched Sung Deuk. He then got into the same stance and tried. As he moved, the others all watched him move, his slashes looked strange and his movement felt off. Hoseok was the first to comment.
"He's so...stiff. Rigid."
Sung Deuk sighed as he watched Seokjin.
"Seems like we have another Namjoon. This is going to be tough."
