Kapitel 625: Silent Fears

Raina listened as Winter Wyn gave her the story of the dragon children and the skills they learned before moving on. Kyera however, didn't need this lesson. She turned and left her daughter in the capable dragon mother's hands and walked away from them. There was a sadness in her heart as she walked through the nests.

Covis followed her, curious as to why his beautiful kitten seemed so… troubled. The expression on her face was solemn as she glanced around the crystals in the room. She slowly grazed her hand lovingly over the nest. He sidled up behind her and slid his arms around her, unable to keep himself from holding her. Whatever was bothering her, was not something he wanted her mind to dwell on. "What is going on in that pretty little mind of yours, My Dear Wife?"

Kyera's hands came up to rest gently on his hands. "There is so much I want to tell you, but most of it is childish nonsense that I doubt you would want to know. I think it's the baby. My body wants to nest, and my heart wants to strengthen our bond before.." She trailed off there was something in her voice that he didn't like.Something he had never heard before, at least not from her.

She was a princess in marriage and in birth, not to mention she was also a warrior in her own right, through her own abilities. Even acting as a Mother to Raina had seemed to come easily to her. Yet, he was willing to bet that the tone of her voice was… insecurity. He wasn't really sure what to say. "Before what?" He asked gently, figuring that was the best plan.

"Before I have the baby." She replied sitting on the edge of the nest. "I think… my instincts want me to share with you so that you will remember who I am… inside." His mind clicked. Suddenly, he remembered how SHE had behaved when Raina was still in the womb. Kyera must have been feeling the same emotions, and yet she hadn't whined in the same manner that Feya had. He should have known and that guilt was gnawing lightly at his heart.

"That baby will not do anything but make you more attractive to me. There is nothing undesirable about a woman who is a good mother, especially not when she is my perfect wife." Clovis whispered as he kisses her neck with the soft reassurance of a husband who cherished his lovely wife. He smiled at her and then that smile slowly turned to a frown. She had not cheered up, instead she looked even sadder. The deepness in those golden eyes was like molten gold swirling and crackling with insecurity and fear. She chewed her lower lip in contemplation. He reached up to brush a pale strand of hair from her eyes.

"What if I am not a good mother?" Kyera asked glancing back at her. There it was, the truth of the matter. Clovis stood tall behind her, and slowly spun her around so he could look deep into her eyes. HIs cold blues were serene and confident, but also warm and reassuring. "Kyera Shade of the Moon, Princess of the Dancing Wind you are an amazing mother. Why would our cub be any different?" Clovis asked patiently, remembering how good she was with Raina.

"Raina was already a child when we met. She has you, but she doesn't need me. What if our baby needs me and I am already gone? What if I die during this war before our child is even old enough to remember me? What if the cub does remember me? It will be nothing but pain." Kyera finally broke down and her heart poured through her lips. Stubborn tears pooled in her eyes as she explained what was going through her mind. Those blasted emotions were toying with her heart and twisting it till there was physical pain to deal with.

"Kyear, You are not Akira." Clovis told her gently, but firmly. It was completely clear that she was not allowed to argue with him on this. "You are my wife. You are Raina's mother. You are this Cubs mother and you will come back to me, to us because you are not allowed to do otherwise. I love you." Clovis told her, his eyes warm and filled with a sense of determination. "I won't let you die." he added kissing her forehead.

Kyeara hugged him hiding her face in his chest. "Thank you." He smiled at her words and kissed her hair.

"Anytime you need a reminder, Kitten." He whispered wrapping his arms around her and slowly rocked back and forth slowly.
