'Four Months! Four Months' Azreal kept repeating in his mind, he knew it would be at least six months but waiting until the last minute was just cutting it too close.
She could repeat it a million more times but he would still come back for her.

On their way out of the city no one stopped them and this only made him feel like something was off, leaving in the middle of the night did make him look guilty and no matter how much one wanted to think he was innocent his actions made him look guilty so why wasn't anyone trying to stop him?
With those thoughts in mind, he held onto the scythes just waiting for something to happen, based on Xavious facial expression and how tight he held onto his glaive he seemed to think the same.
Picking up speed Xavious ran in front of him.
"Follow me"
Around seventy to eighty percent of the Nether realm was made up of forests with cities built around them instead of cutting them down, so for every city or town, there were probably hundreds more forests.
Nodding Azreal followed behind him, a good distance away from the city was a forest, after being in the forest for a while it looked like Xavious didn't know where he was going he was just making random twists and turns going over tracks he made before for over an hours before he moved off again doing the same thing, since he wasn't stupid it wasn't hard for Azreal to understand was Xavious was doing.
Three hours in Xavious was still doing the same thing, getting bored he didn't stop he only tried to make conversation.
"Where's Nala? why didn't she come?"
"Why are you only asking now, why didn't you ask in the city?" Azreal rolled his eyes as he answered he was still quite upset.
Xavious put on a look of deep contemplation as he answered.
"Mhmmm ask in the city where I could die or ask outside of the city where I'm a bit safer? Mhmm that's a tough one" Xavious spoke while moving his two hands up and down as if weighing his options "mhmm sigh it was a close one but my safety seems more important"
Azreal ignored him and just looked around the forests then a question popped in his head, so he used it to change the topic.
"Why don't I see any insects or small animals?"
The forest was just empty he didn't even an occasional traveler—that might be due to the time—much less a fly.
Originally he'd just thought that all the animals and insects were warbeasts so he wouldn't see any 'dumb' animals but looking at the deathly quiet forest, not ever a cricket couldn't be heard, it felt too creepy.
"Insects? Small animals? What do yo— oh you mean inferior beasts?"
"Inferior Beasts? Yea sure them"
"They used to be all over the place but the mother took them away, they used to be used for labor and food since they had no intelligence at least according to the fossils back home"
"So that's why you guys can only eat fruits and vegetables, you have no creatures to hunt?"
"Yup, that is unless you're desperate enough to resort to cannibalism" Xavious shrugged as he spoke.
"Is this way going to lead to the capital?" Azreal decided to ask since Xavious had stopped walking around and started moving forward.
"Nope, I'm still trying to cover up our trail so if any ones after us they'll be chasing their own tail for a while, I'm done now anyway, so let's go!"
With Xavious leading the way, they traveled for another four or five hours at full speed, while making a few detours to confuse any tracker, eventually Xavious could keep up any more because of the vast difference in strength, thinking about it for a while Azreal offered to carry him but Xavious refused without giving it a second thought.
With no other choice, they made camp for the nice in a cave hidden amongst the trees, although tired Xavious went to go get firewood while Azreal —who wanted to go for a walk— went to find some fruits.
Under the starry night sky everything seemed so much simpler, the other thing on his mind was how he was going to get stronger right now.
He said he would but he had no idea what he was going to do, if he met the empyrean wolf king and if he had mastered the technique he was working on if he was will to teach it to him, it would make him stronger but it would make things easier.
Thinking up to that point he could help letting off a few self-deprecating chuckles, who would really be will to teach a technique like that to just anyone, something like that would obliviously be his trump card.
He could become a professional tomb raider? But would it be that easy to find tombs much less tombs in which the cores weren't depleted of energy.
Speaking of tombs why did Xavious want those bones?
Thinking about the bones Xavious wanted he turned about to head back to the cave, even forgetting that he went to get food, the issue with the bones was able to help him filter out the noise in his head.
Taking several deep breaths on the way back he was able to calm down a little.
