The night was cold and dismal, and Darryl was there walking through a narrow hallway with Manager Song. The latter was cursing his luck, even though Darryl was in charge, his position was still at risk knowing that tragedy with the horses happened under his supervision. Also, although Darryl never once vent out on him, he was afraid that what happened today might be too much for the young master to contain and he might suffer his beastly temper.
He did purposely avoid being with the beast after what happened but for some reasons tonight the beast called him to made him arrange something for him. The young master wanted to change a bedroom. For what reason, he didn't have the guts to asked but somehow, he wondered why.
"Young master, if you want there is a more suitable bedroom for you in the second floor. I had it prepared for you already" He called on to his boss who was walking steadily in front of him.
"I'm okay with the room I asked you to prepare for me" Darryl asked without giving any hint of emotions. His face was as blank as a canvass, so was his eyes.
"I see. Well here we are" The manager said before he pushed the door open. He was very hesitant in making the young master settle in this room. Although it had a great size but he thought it might not suit the young master's taste, not as if he knew what Darryl's preferences were but knowing he was the great Lagdameo heir he must have been accustomed to glamour which this room was kind of lacking as of the moment.
Darryl stepped in and the heavy burgundy velvet drapes welcomed him, so with the dark green papered walls. He went closer to the window and looked outside as if there was something worthy of a view in a dark background of the night.
"I'm good here. You can leave" He dismissed Manager Song by then without withdrawing his gaze from the outside view.
"I'll take my leave so you can rest. Have a good night young master" Manager Song bid as he went on his way. Before he could dismiss completely, he saw how Darryl's hard expression loosed up and how his eyes glimmered as he gazed upon the beauty of the night. It left him wondering what could have turned everything upside down. If he only knew changing rooms was what the Young Master needed to relieve him then he should have done it earlier.
When Darryl was completely alone, he pushed more of the drapes away from the window to have a great view. Indeed, he could see Xhemin's room clearly from here. Unknown to everyone, the reason why he wanted this room was because of his woman. He knew that the room he requested was just across the other side of the building, giving him a clear view of the girl's room from here.
So he was sneaking up on her and to see her room well lighted and her shadow moving from side to side was enough to soothe up his tensed nerves. Strangely, he felt fine despite the tragedy that happened, somehow one glimpse of her was making him okay—better that he was in ages.
"Still awake milady" He murmured under his breathe. It was almost midnight and he wondered what could have made her awake until this time. He continued spying her from his window and even when the forest fog was heavily settling in succumbing the night, Darryl remained passive. He was still on his back, still on his suit and still on the same position by the window hoping she would show herself up near the window for him to see.
And it happened.
Xhemin did turned herself near the window to close it, but there was something, something with her actions and expression that made Darryl's face grimaced.
"What are you up to this time?" He curiously asked as he recalled her expression few minutes ago before she closed her bedroom's windows. The girl was still dressed up, not with her nightgowns as she was supposed to but with regular outdoor attire. She was heavily dressed, with coats laying on her shoulders that made it very obvious she was going out.
Darryl even captured the look on her face. She was on her guard, even made a ground check to make sure the mansion's ground were empty. Good thing Darryl was able to hide himself from the window on time before she could see him. Her face was calm, but the determination grew pronounce in her expression that made Darryl concluded she was going out to do something important.
But what could it be?
What errand could she being at this time of the night?
How important was such that made her unconcern of her own safety and sneak out at this time?
Darryl let loose of the curtain that covered entirely his view of the girl's room. He looked at his watch and before he could lose a minute, he went out his bedroom fast as he could and head out to the alley that leads to the girl's bedroom.
