Takumi woke up in a hospital bed.
"Finally, you decided to wake up. You tall, dumb, blonde motherfucker, you scared the hell out of me."
"Whoa, slow down. What happened, and where am I?"
"The pack's hospital. I accidentally marked you. The doctor said I almost punctured an important vein. You were unconscious for a little over a week."
"Then why were you scolding me instead of crying tears of joy?"
"The doctor said that you were ok. You just didn't want to wake up is all. So that kind of pissed me off."
"Geez, you say it as if I chose not to. Come closer."

He stared at her face for a bit.
"Is there something on my face?" She asked.
"No. But were you sleeping here the whole time?"
She shifted her gaze to anywhere but his. "No," She answered.
"I know you're lying. I can see the bags under your eyes. Don't tell me that you also haven't been eating properly."
"I tried at least."
"What am I going to do with you?"
He then noticed what was on her wrist.
"You're wearing the bracelet?"
"Yeah, it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. But I never said that I wouldn't wear it."
"I didn't expect that from you," He kissed her forehead. "Go home and get proper rest."
"But…"
"It's non-negotiable. I'm sure the doctors will make sure I'll be fine."
"Fine."
Twilight went home and changed into his hoodie. As soon as she lay down, she was out cold.
She woke up just as Youhei entered her room.
"Why do you and your sister like busting in instead of knocking? Does it run in the family or something?"
"Why do you like kicking people in your sleep?"
"I don't."
"I knocked earlier, but when you didn't answer, I figured you were sleeping. So, I left and tried again later. But I gave up after trying four more times and decided to wake you up myself. But you were out cold. At least, that's what I thought until you launched a kick in my direction. This is the third time I've come to try again."
"Geez, sorry."
"And you drool a lot in your sleep. I feel sorry for the guy who has to wake up to that every morning. I'm surprised he hasn't run away yet." He laughed.
She threw a pillow at his face.
"I was kidding. Anyway, there's something for you in the kitchen." He closed the door behind him.
"Yeah yeah. I'll be there in a minute."
After a few more minutes of lying in bed, she went downstairs to the kitchen. There she found her favourite: grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches and chocolate pancakes, waiting for her. Next to the food was a card. She opened it, and it was written:

She finished it all and went back to her room to get ready for the day. She found another card taped to the mirror in the bathroom. It was written:

"Have fun but be back by 11. Legally, you're an adult, but to me, you're still a pup."
"I know. Anyway, I'm off."

"Ok."
She went downstairs and found Takumi waiting.
"Surprised to see me?" He asked.
"More like glad. But shouldn't you be in the hospital?"
"Don't worry about it, the doctor said I'm ok. You look beautiful, but I think something's missing."
He replaced her hairpin with another one shaped like a snowflake. It was the same colour as her eyes.
"That's better."
"Before we leave, my dad wants to take pictures."
After a lot of pictures were taken, they left.
"So where are we going?" She asked.
"I can't tell you, it's a surprise. But what I can tell you is that you'll love it."
He took her hand and led her into the nearby forest.
"Is it far?" She asked.
"Not really. We're almost there."
"I smell lavender."
"That's because we've arrived."
They entered a clearer area, where there was a picnic set up near the waterfall with lighting from scented candles.
"I guess this makes you disappearing on me the day worth it."
"Before I forget. Your flowers," He gave her the bouquet. "I still remember when you mentioned to Mitsuri how you like chrysanthemums. I know I shouldn't have eavesdropped, but it was low-key worth it."
"I can let it slide."
"Come on," He took her to sit down. "Try this," He handed her a cupcake. "I found them at the store. Apparently, they have oreo bits in them."
She took a bite out of it.
"How is it?"
"Close to being the best thing I've ever had."
"I knew you'd like it," He wiped the cream off her nose. "There's more than cupcakes, by the way."
"I'll stick with them for now."
"Good thing I bought a lot."
Afterwards, they laid on their backs.
"The sky is really pretty. It's as if it becomes prettier with each night that passes," She admired.
"Yeah," He said while looking at her. He then put an arm around her and pulled her closer.
"That reminds me, I can't wait to see what your mark will look like."
"What do you mean?"
"After a mating ceremony, it won't look like a bite mark anymore. It could look like anything, for example, a rose, a wolf howling, claws, and so on. Being my mate, you'll get something that has to do with the sun, and if you were able to mark me, I'd get something that has to do with the moon. It'll look like a tattoo."
