Chapter 8: Seoul? Not Again!
(A.N. – just imagine the conversations are in Korean if it seems weird )
I walk towards the school gate. "Good Morning Mr Kim", I say to the watchman as I walk past the school. He gives me warm smile and greets me too.
I quickly leave my stuff in the office waving at almost every person I pass and take some books and leave for class. It's a chaos as usual. I quickly calm the students down and start the class. It does not take time to calm them down. They listen to me well. I have many students in my class, as this is the only high school in Seulogiri. They just love to come to school and learn new things every day. Something completely opposite to what the situation was in the schools I taught earlier.
As I enter the office for lunch, someone holds my hand to seat me at a table. "Sit with us for lunch today Y/N!" Mrs. Nari says to me. I brought your favorite jjajangmeyon. To which I give her a bright smile and agree quickly. I bring my own lunch box and sit with them. I just take a bite and enjoy it. Am about to take another one when someone screams into my ear, to which I get so shocked, I almost drop the chopsticks. "Yah Y/N wont you sit with us for lunch today?" Its my friend Eun Ji. I look at her annoyed, Heo Jun is with her. Both of them glaring at me. They teach here as well. Three of us have been close friends since I started working at the school. We spend a lot of time together in and outside school as well. "Join me, Mrs. Nari brought jjajangmeyon today", I say to them. To which they quickly sit and start hogging like there's no tomorrow. Well everbody loves jjajanmeyong (a really delicious Korean noodle dish).
As we are about to finish our lunch, the peon tells us that we need to visit the principal. She wants to take a meeting. We wind up and go to her office. "Good afternoon Mam". We greet her. "We have this really important workshop starting this weekend and I want the three of you to attend it." She says. We all sigh internally "No holiday this weekend". "It will go on for almost a week so your classes will be adjusted accordingly. Also its in Seoul so the travelling and lodging expenses will be bared by the school. " she continues. To this Eun Ji and Heo Jun start staring at me. 'Seoul!? No way.' I think to myself. She briefs us more about it then we leave her office.
"What now Y/N?" Eun Ji askes me. They know how much I hate going to Seoul. "Not like we have a choice", I say. It is an important workshop, we have to go. "Don't worry we will be there with you", Heo Jun says.
