Chapter 73: The-Boy-Who-Trained (II)

~~Kathmandu, Nepal~~

"Welcome to Kamar-Taj" The Ancient One declared dramatically as she held her arms wide. Jacklyn stared at the massive property in awe and fascination while Harry simply took in the view with a calm look on his face. They could see a lot of people milling around dressed in robes and as soon as they noticed the Ancient One, they would approach her and greet her respectfully.

"You were at least telling the truth about you being their leader" Harry wondered aloud as he stared at the Ancient One nonchalantly. The Ancient One's lips twitched in irritation.

"You don't trust anyone do you?" The Ancient One asked drily, but all three of them knew that it was a rhetorical question.

"I have a really hard time trusting people" Harry admitted dismissively. There was no point in denying it since there was nothing for him to gain by hiding the truth.

"But you trust her and your other friend, don't you?" The Ancient One asked, making Jacklyn perk up, but she pretended not to be listening to what the two of them were talking about.

"Yes, I do, but it didn't happen in a day or a year" Harry answered honestly, making Jacklyn flutter in joy, but she did her best to act normally. Then he turned toward the Ancient One and stared at her intently. "Keep proving that everything you told me is the truth and I might start trusting you too" Harry added magnanimously.

"That is exactly what I am planning to do" The Ancient One agreed. "This is where I live" The Ancient One stopped in front of a big wooden building. The wooden door slid open with a wave of her hand and just when the three of them were about to enter the building, Jacklyn stopped in her tracks and smacked her hands on her face.

"Fuck!! I forgot to tell Morsi that I am alright!" Jacklyn exclaimed in alarm. Harry snapped his fingers and a set of glowing digits appeared in the air.

"It hasn't been an hour yet, Jacky. Let's go back and inform Morsi and grab Brittany… She would keep sulking if we don't invite her" Harry quickly suggested, making Jacklyn nod at him with a smile on her face. "Excuse us, we will be back in a couple of minutes" Harry said to the Ancient One who gave him an understanding nod.

Harry raised his hands in front of him and started to rotate one of his hands while holding out his other hand. A sparkling portal, leading to the drawing room of the Harper Family Mansion started to form in the air. Jacklyn stared at the circle in complete shock as Harry was able to get past the strongest Wards someone could buy with close to no effort.

"Not bad for a first try, wouldn't you say?" Harry asked the Ancient One, who simply gave him a bland look.

"Yes… not bad. Not bad" The Ancient One forced herself to speak those words. She felt like she had been slapped… It had taken her three days to learn how to create portals and she had to keep using the sling rings in the following months, but the boy simply learned the Spell after watching it once… 'This world is so unfair' she whined inside her mind.

"Please, Harry, you gotta teach me how to do that" Jacklyn practically begged, making Harry chuckle at her antics.

"I will try my best to teach you" Harry accepted her request with a grin even though he wasn't sure if Jacklyn could use the Spell or not as she wasn't drawing power from other dimensions. With that said, Harry stepped into the portal followed by Jacklyn and the portal closed behind them, leaving the Ancient One standing at the door of her house.

The Ancient One released a tired sigh… Dealing with the boy was harder than she was expecting it to be… His mind was terrifyingly sharp and he was quickly catching on to her. She wouldn't be surprised if he had already realized that she wanted to avoid killing him… There were several reasons why she couldn't kill the boy or try to get rid of him in some manner…

First of all… Fate had already decreed that the boy was important in the grand scheme of things, so killing him would make Fate displeased… very displeased, and then she would have to step in to kill Tom Marvolo Riddle aka Voldemort from starting World War III.

Secondly, it would be a pain in the ass to kill him in the first place… There were a couple of ways to kill him. She could portal him straight into the Mariana Trench, the surface of the sun, or into space. He would die even though doing any of the above would trigger his mother's Protection and there have been some timelines where he was able to survive being tossed into the bottom of the ocean, being sent to the surface of the sun, or being shoved into space…

And when he returned… It was a fucking shit show…

She could try to seal him, but once again that wouldn't work as he would learn any Spell she would cast on him after watching it only once. She could try to knock him out and then seal him, but once again that would trigger his mother's Protection and she would be shafted… Then there was the fact that Hadrian Potter wasn't evil. Yes, he wasn't anywhere close to being a paragon of justice, but he was still someone she could depend upon in times of crisis.

"Greetings, Sorcerer Supreme!" Someone greeted her, but already knew who it was. She had seen it happen. She turned her head to find one of her students, Kaecilius, a student who would betray her in the future if she didn't do anything drastic to change the future.

"Kaecilius" The Ancient One said as she gave him a nod of approval.

"I heard you brought some new outsiders" Kaecilius said and the Ancient One simply hummed in acknowledgment. Kaecilius wasn't against outsiders or anything, but as one of the students of the Ancient One, he was interested in the people, the Ancient One herself was interested in.

"Yes, I have already taught the one I am planning to take as my student how to create portals" The Ancient One revealed before her gaze sharpened. "Kaecilius, whatever you do, do not try to make an enemy of my newest student" The Ancient One warned him as she continued to stare at him intently, making him frown a bit.

"I wasn't planning to, in the first place" Kaecilius argued back, making the Ancient One hum for the second time. "I am simply interested to meet my new fellow disciple" Kaecilius explained, making the Ancient One smile at him.

"Kaecilius, paths to hell are paved with good intentions… Always remember that. The one I am taking in as my student has the greatest potential in Mystic Arts I have ever seen… His talent and potential are more than all of ours combined" The Ancient One revealed. Kaecilius' eyes grew wide in surprise… He never thought he would ever hear such a compliment coming from the Ancient One…

Now, he was even more interested in meeting his fellow disciple… Such high praise coming from someone like the Ancient One obviously meant something.

Kaecilius opened his mouth to say something, but he caught his words in his mouth when a portal started to form right in front of them. Moments later, the portal finally opened, revealing a group of three. Kaecilius was quite surprised when he noticed how young they were though he started to wonder which one among the three was going to be his fellow disciple as the Ancient One told him that she was taking in only one student.

"Harry, this is Kaecilius. He is currently learning under me. You will be learning beside him" The Ancient One explained, making the boy in the middle nod his head in understanding.

The group of three stepped out of the portal and the portal closed beside them… "Nice to meet Kaecilius. I am Harry Potter" Harry said as he extended his hand toward Kaecilius. The man accepted the gesture and shook his hand. To be honest, Kaecilius didn't know what to think about Harry, but for the time being, he decided to trust the Ancient One's judgment. Having talent and potential didn't translate into skill.

Kaicilius let go of Harry's hand and that is when Kaecilius got a good look at Harry's hand… Harry wasn't wearing sling rings. The boy was able to create a portal without sling rings… It was quite an impressive feat as Kaecilius still needed to use sling rings to amplify his Spells. He reluctantly admitted, there was some truth in his mentor's words, and this only made him more excited about his fellow disciple.

"Kaecilius, why don't you go and prepare some tea and snacks for our guests while I show them around?" The Ancient One suggested and knowing that he had been dismissed, Kaecilius respectfully bowed his head before walking away. "Come on, I will show you around. I promise you three are going to love this!" The Ancient One said with a grin as she started to lead the trio into her house.

Brittany decided to stick very close to Jacklyn and Harry as she was still very uncomfortable with everything going on, but she trusted her friends and that is why she agreed to visit the base of some unknown secret order known as Masters of the Mystic Arts, but all of her worries were blown away when the strange bald woman showed them her library…
