Chapter 10: Chapter 10: The Pull

Clare’s POV

I gasped as I pulled away from John, his body instinctively going in front of me as he shielded me away from whoever had barged in between us. I hastily pulled my shirt back up and straightened myself as my eyes darted around the room, looking for who had come in and growled.

But my eyes caught sight of Leonel’s too late, his large body walking toward us and gripping John by the sweater. I don’t think I could ever forget the pure rage that manifested in his eyes; they seemed to be swirling with it, unapologetic and feral rage as his eyes turned a bright shade of red.

I knew I had to act at that moment, otherwise, there would be a fight that neither of our packs would be able to come back from. I gripped the back of John's shirt, pulling him back as I placed myself between him and Leonel.
