Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Good Luck Will Come to the Kind-Hearted Me

Illusion!

Yes!

This must be an illusion.

"I like spicy stir-fried meat," Old Man Zhang fantasized, drool dripping down the corner of his mouth. "It must be very fragrant."

"I prefer hot pot," Lin Fan expressed his own preference.

"Spicy stir-fried meat is good, and braised is also good."

"Dry pot is even better."

"Meat stewed with tofu is also not bad."

Ignoring the presence of the stray dog, they discussed how to cook the cute dog, their mouths watering as their stomachs rumbled.

Old Man Zhang said sadly, "It's a pity we don't have a pot."

"And no fire," Lin Fan said, disappointed.

Both of them looked dejected, but soon, as if sensing each other's thoughts, they looked at each other and said in unison, with determination, "But we can find a way."

"Hehe!"

"Hehe!"

They laughed.

At this moment, the stray dog felt humiliated. Its interlocking canine teeth were broken. It struggled, but the other person was gripping the scruff of its neck, leaving it without any ability to resist. It opened its mouth, preparing to bark.

But…

Whimper!

Seeing the dog about to bark, Lin Fan was startled and quickly shoved his fist into the dog's mouth. Its throat was blocked by the hard object, and it felt the urge to vomit, the contents of its stomach churning.

"Shh!"

"Be good, don't shout. The orderlies will find us. They love to catch you and lock you up in a place you can't get out of. You'll be so pitiful."

Lin Fan whispered to the dog, saying things it probably couldn't understand.

The stray dog was furious.

Damn it!

I'm a level two evil creature, how can you treat me like this? Take your filthy arm out of my mouth! The stray dog tightened its throat, trying to crush the arm.

It quickly realized something was wrong.

The human arm was so hard, rubbing against its throat uncomfortably. Although it was a level two evil creature, its internal parts were still fragile.

Old Man Zhang rummaged through the room, trying to find a lighter or matches, but after searching for a long time, he found nothing.

"I didn't find anything."

"So sad, such lovely food is right in front of us, but we have no way to cook it."

He was truly sad.

Then he gently stroked the dog's fur, which wasn't very smooth, a bit rough. "Doggy, it's such a pity. We didn't find anything to start a fire. If we could start a fire, we could eat you."

The stray dog understood. It stared with its dog eyes; these two humans actually wanted to eat it.

What the hell?

It was an evil creature! How could humans eat evil creatures? That was simply impossible. To say something insulting to evil creatures, humans viewed the flesh and blood of evil creatures the same way they viewed excrement. Even if it was truly delicious, they wouldn't put it in their mouths.

"What are you looking at?" Old Man Zhang asked.

Lin Fan looked up and said calmly, "I'm looking at the light bulb."

Old Man Zhang also looked curiously. After looking for a while, his eyes felt a little blurry and uncomfortable. "What's so interesting about a light bulb?"

"Do you think electricity can cook meat?" Lin Fan asked a fatal question.

Old Man Zhang scratched his head. Even if he racked his little brain, he couldn't figure out whether or not it could cook meat.

Lin Fan muttered to himself, "I remember a while ago, when I was practicing the electric current cultivation method, I smelled my own flesh becoming fragrant. I think if the doggy also cultivates, its meat will definitely be fragrant too."

"I think we can try it," Old Man Zhang said.

The stray dog wasn't stupid; it could understand human communication and behavior.

But now…

It really wanted to say that it couldn't understand what these two were talking about at all.

It understood every single word, but when these words were combined, it couldn't comprehend the meaning.

"Okay, watch me."

Lin Fan stood on the bed, still unable to reach the light bulb. He moved the plastic chair by the door over, stood on it, and unscrewed the light bulb. He then saw two holes leading to the abyss of death.

"Do you need my help?" Old Man Zhang asked.

Lin Fan shook his head. "No, I can do it myself."

Then he raised his hand, bringing the dog closer to the deadly holes.

The stray dog suddenly realized that the humans were going to kill it. It struggled, wanting to scream, but it couldn't make a sound. It roared in its heart.

"Fuck you!"

"Stop!"

Zzzt!

Suddenly, a surge of electricity coursed through it. The stray dog's fur stood on end, its body trembling and emitting smoke. It was a somewhat powerful evil creature, but it had an innate fear of electricity.

Lin Fan's body also trembled.

"Such powerful electricity, much stronger than the school's."

Gradually…

The aroma of cooked meat wafted out.

The stray dog was half-dead; it had completely broken down.

"Eh! This side is cooked, but this side isn't cooked yet." Lin Fan felt invigorated. The electrotherapy was truly amazing. Then he changed the position, sticking the dog towards the other hole.

Zzzt!

Electric sparks flickered, and occasionally, small electric arcs could be seen flashing and disappearing.

The dog's fur caught fire.

But fire could make the meat even more fragrant.

Old Man Zhang was full of anticipation; it smelled so good.

It really smelled so good.

At this point, the stray dog had only one last breath left. As the electric current surged through its body, it was not far from death, its breath growing weaker and weaker. It could already smell the aroma; its own meat was indeed very fragrant.

It roared unwillingly.

"Beasts!"

The light bulbs in the mental hospital flickered, on and off, as if in a haunted house, creating a terrifying atmosphere.

Li Ang was on night duty today.

He was in a good mood now, his life at its peak. The girlfriend that the uncle next door had introduced to him was a really good person, gentle and lovely. Although they hadn't lived together, they had done everything except for the last step.

He thought about holding hands in the dim cinema, watching a romantic movie.

"I know what you want, but I'm a traditional and conservative woman. I want to give myself to you perfectly on our wedding night. But now, I can give you a different kind of reward…"

As Li Ang waited excitedly, his girlfriend unzipped his pants and quietly lowered her head.

He instantly grabbed his hair.

His mind exploded.

From that day on, he swore to work hard.

In the corridor…

"What's wrong with the light bulb? Why is it flickering?" Li Ang looked at the light bulb, then shook his head. "These electricians are really careless these days. It must be a loose connection."

He didn't pay much attention to it and continued patrolling the corridor.

Ahead was Ward 666.

Thinking about what had happened that day…

He felt that he must have seen wrong. It must have been an illusion, an illusion caused by working too hard. He would just go and check, see if the two patients in Ward 666 were asleep. If they were fast asleep and had kicked off their blankets, he would go in and cover them up.

Those two patients were pitiful people.

One was so young, yet suffering from mental illness. It was truly a pity.

The other was quite old, with no children, living here alone and desolate. Truly pitiful.

"Good luck will come to the kind-hearted me."

Li Ang praised himself and walked towards Ward 666 with a smile.

Were the old and young man asleep?
