Chapter 21: Not Fariy Tale
"Not bad, Hephaestus." I said while standing within my new hideout, there I was looking at Zeus' new body, as well as Hephaestus's new body. The two made themselves far stronger, and more adapted towards the usage of magic.
The hideout was of course large, Hephaestus enchanted the space to be large, as well as even made pockets in space. but I didn't come here to see how the hideout was, I was here to see what Hephaestus and Zeus did without me and see if I could make any improvement.
"Not bad? I this should be the best I could do." Hephaestus who now took the form of a middle-aged human with a thick beard, and red hair asked. he looked 100% human, from the body heat he gave off, to the beating of a heartbeat, or the blood flowing through him. he was pretty much alive, it was just that he didn't have a soul.
I smiled lightly at Hephaestus before I sent all of the information into his mind about the flaws I could see in his work. Like a human, Hephaestus's eyes were wide seeing just how many flaws he had made,
"It's good to make mistakes, it means you can still grow. making no mistakes sounds cool and all, but it is also boring." I said while walking over to a computer where I sat down,
"Let's begin on bringing Odin to life, do you have his body ready? it doesn't need to be a powerful body, just one suited to hold a know-it-all." I said calmly, to which an old man with an eye patch walked over to my side, I looked at him for a moment before nodding.
For the following few hours, I spent it all on finishing up Zeus's work on Odin. the A.I. was far more complex than Zeus and Hephaestus, and I really had to push myself to create this A.I. due to the power he would have. but after AI was done, Odin was downloaded into his new body.
I watched as Odin's lifeless one eye came to life, and after a moment he moved around, getting used to his body. he was much faster than the others, as within a few seconds, he was moving around as if he had been a human all his life.
"how is everything running?" I asked while looking at the scanner to make sure everything was good.
"Although things could be better, they are okay for now," Odin said calmly, to which I nodded in agreement. the A.I. should be smarter than me... in some areas,
"Alright, let's start by you mapping out the whole timeline of what I just did this morning. I made sure not to use anything that would help you, other than the car." I said to which Odin nodded lightly.
"Today, you should have woken up around 8 Am, just in time to meet Sarah as she was getting ready to head out. From your room to your car, I believe it took about 87 steps. You haven't eaten anything today, after dropping her off at college, you should have come here soon after." Odin said to which I nodded as everything he said was true, even down to the footsteps, which I made more than normally needed.
"Alright, so me a 3D hologram," I said to which Odin removed his eye patch, from that eye, light shot out, forming a hologram in front of me which showed Sarah home. I went on to have a hologram show when I just woke up this morning, and had it play backward, showing everything I did in my sleep, and even showing Sarah who was moving around in her sleep as well, but that was creepy, so I voided looking there. Although I was sure she wasn't sleep as she seemed to be doing something with her hands under the blanket, but that was none of my business
Everything played out backward, from me getting out of bed and walking backward into the shower, leaving Sarah who was stunned seeing me, from me getting out of the shower completely dry, to me and Sarah washing dishes, and to her studying, everything was there.
I even made sure to count everything I had saw, just to see how on point Odin's reaction to everything was. In the end, I smiled seeing as Odin was pretty much 100% correct with everything. from the drop of water that came out of the shower, to how foggy the mirror in the bathroom was, even to how I dried my hair, Odin was correct with everything... but how?
Well, I created Odin to take in all of the information he could and put them all together to be able to read the world. Think of it as how some martial artist could read a person's fighting style, and be able to know how they act, and so on. Odin took this to a new level, allowing him to take in information, before putting it all together to recreate the world, down to the last drop of water.
Already, Odin had scanned every recording on earth, be it from YouTube, camera, and so on. every phone out there was already searched and scanned, and all of the information Odin could take in, was put together. from the clouds to the rain, the how the wind is changing, to how one is blinking, all of this information can allow Odin to pretty much be all-knowing, but this was just a retelling of the past,
He had all of the pieces together, these pieces being the information of the past. he just had to ensure all of the pieces fit together, to recreate the past perfectly, but telling the future was far more difficult as many parts came and went,
So, I went on to start testing Odin on how well he can guess the future. I started by having him tell me completely random things that should happen somewhere around the world. such as me pulling up a random street camera from somewhere in the world, and having him tell me everything that should appear there in the following 30 minutes, before increasing the time bit by bit.
I found that Odin could see into the future by more than an hour with 99.999% accuracy, I didn't have time to test further as I had to leave to Lisa's house. Although Odin offered to tell me what I was to expect over there, I rejected him and simply had him, Zeus, and Hephaestus work on being the best. Zeus was the only one amongst them suited for combat, so I wanted him strong enough to even withstand something like a nuclear bomb with him not taking damage, on top of that, I wanted them to shock me with the nano suit they could build, and if it would be better than the one I had plans for. a challenge which Odin and Hephaestus happily took,
Of course, before I had left, I tried to see what Odin could find on magic, but he needed more information before he could do anything. Odin also found some blank spots in the timeline that he was trying to form, and he believed it had something to do with magic, so he wanted to collect information as soon as possible...
A few hours back, in Lisa's mansion.
Jenny was running around, making sure everything was ready for Alex's arrival. Lisa on the other hand ignored her, getting ready to leave before Alex could come.
"... H-hey Lisa," Jenny called out in hesitation, Lisa who was about to leave looked towards her in confusion. Jenny couldn't look Lisa in the eyes, Lisa wasn't the same from a month ago, she looked... well, she lost the aura she normally had. the aura that said she had huge dreams and she was going to turn said dreams into reality no matter what. but that was no more.
"If this is about Alex, then just ask him out. you two are perfect for each other... just keep his and your business away from mom." Lisa said in a low voice, confusing Jenny who wanted to know more, but Lisa didn't really want to talk about this, so she just looked at Jenny wanting her to hurry up with her question.
"Alex's roommate is a cute girl, I feel..." Jenny couldn't finish her words out of embarrassment, she saw Alex as this pure innocent guy who was still just learning about the outside world. She wanted to protect him, but she didn't know the right way to go about this.
"... then just ask him out. I don't see Alex as the type to betray you," Lisa said calmly,
"I-i know... but, Alex doesn't even know what sex is. he thought it was just another word for gender." Jenny said, catching Lisa off guard as this was news to her. but she quickly understood what her sister was getting at.
"... no, he can't live here." She said lightly, disappointing Jenny.
"I just can't bring myself to see him..." Lisa said while closing the door behind her, leaving Jenny behind in shock and confusion at what those words meant.
Lisa went to her car, and as she did her eyes just couldn't help but water. Being slapped by her mother that day was like a wake-up call for Lisa, for the first few days after that, she locked herself away, and just cried. the realization that she was just the cheating villainous white to a husband who had a powerful back ground hit her.
For the longest, she thought she was the center of the world. she had the looks, she had the brains, and even the money. She was the popular girl who caught everyone's eye, every time she entered a room, rarely would everyone's eyes not be on her. She thought she was the main character, but she realized she was the side character that helped the MC grow.
She of course knew this was reality, but as a book lover, she sometimes loved to compare herself to stories and book characters. but she had just come to realize that she was a villain, a bully, and that was even more so to a kid. Alex was pretty much a kid when he moved in, the guy barely knew anything, and she bullied him for it. those times couldn't help but just keep replaying in her heart, making her hate herself.
Of course, her mother nearly gave Lisa another slap when she found out that Lisa was home just crying. So, Lisa had to return to work, where she drowned herself in work. So, that was what she was doing until Jenny asked her if she and Alex could stream here... she agreed, seeing this as a first step to at least build up the courage to apologize... but then again, she didn't want to as she knew she didn't deserve it.
A part of her was happy that Jenny was asking for her help, but at the same time, she was scared she might mess something up. She thought the two were perfect for each other, is that not how the stories went? Jenny was the outcast of the family, and Alex was now the MC, they became friends, one was looking for love, and the other one was falling in love... but this was reality... not a fairy tale.
