Chapter 35: Crimson Raid (Part 2)
"The room is towards the back end of the first floor." (Luis)
"How many with them?" (Peter)
"There are 14 people with them and 3 guarding the way there."
"Is there any other way to get there besides where those three people are?"
"If I break the floor and go straight down somewhere near the room I will be able to create my own way there. Other than that it's just that one hallway."
"Can you even break the floor?"
If I use some fire magic to envelop my fist and strengthen the muscles in my hand I could probably break it.
"...I think it's doable, I'll head there from my side and you cut them off from the back."
"... How will I know when you are there?"
"Listen for the gunshots, I'm sure you'll figure it out."
"..."
"Well, I will try to get to them without having to resort to a gun fight so you might not hear anything, but just in case guard the corridor, let anyone that wants to pass through do so, we can't alert them too much."
"... Alright."
We split up at the staircase. The leaders are about 40 meters ahead of me on the first floor. I guess
I'll have to break through the floor somewhere around here. Would they here? I mean there's a shit ton of bullets going off nearby and the only people on this side of the house are these two on the first floor and their bodyguards. Well, I guess here would be fine.
I wanted Peter to split up from me to do this. I create fire magic on my hand. This is more powerful offensively as suppose to Wind so it. Alright then, I use magic to make my muscles stronger and create the fire fist as strong as I can. I hit the floor and break it.
Fuck! That hurt, I should probably think of using a little magic defending my arm. My bone cracked a little bit, my arm is bleeding and some muscles tore. I might've broken it if the surface had been any stronger. This will take a while to heal.
I jump down through the hole. Looks like they weren't alerted by that, or they did and decided to not move too drastically. I walk to the part of the second floor that is right above them and stay there. They aren't moving too suspiciously, for now, I'll just sit down here and heal...
Actually, it might be best to hear some information. I'm sure their tongues are loose from the alcohol and the situation they are in. I focus my hearing to hear what they are saying.
"... fuck did they know today was the day Ricardo?! One of your men leaked it!" (Voice 1)
"The only people that knew about you coming are my most trusted man, all of which are here."(Ricardo)
Based on how the first person spoke, he's probably Rodriguez.
"Well, searching just became hella easier. We just have to kill everyone here from your side and the problem will be solved." (Rodriguez)
Well, I don't know how but shit escalated quickly while they were firing off outside. I'll hear them out a bit more and then I'll attack them, we have about 10 minutes until the police start swarming this place so we can't afford to stay here for too long. We just have to kill everyone in that room now and Crimson Night should no longer exist.
"Calm down you idiot! I won't deny the possibility of one of them being a mole but if we start killing indiscriminately it won't solve shit." (Ricardo)
"I don't care, if this get's out to *** you know that you will receive some punishment. I don't want to have to work like this if I feel threatened." He starts for his gun.
Everyone else starts reaching for their guns. The atmosphere becomes tense, the only thing that could be heard was the shooting going on in the background. Everything else was quiet.
They have a very fragile relationship, don't they? Well, they most likely either met today or were rivals aiming for a spot back from where they came from. Footsteps can be heard coming down the hallway. Someone is coming into this, must be tough.
"Mr. Ricardo, I have something very important to report!"(???)
"Not now Ricky, we are in a very delicate situation. Someone here is trying to play God with our men." (Ricardo)
The man hesitates for a second but decided to attempt again.
"...It is extremely urgent sir!"
Ricardo looks at Rodriguez with a serious face. After staring at each other for what seemed like an eternity Rodriguez spoke first.
"At ease guys."
The men behind him take away their hands from their guns.
"You guys too."(Ricardo)
Everyone from Ricardo's side decides to put their hands away from their guns. Ricardo turns to Ricky.
"What is it?!"
"Yes, umm, the people who have infiltrated the place... they are making walls out of nowhere. A shout can be heard from them and then the next thing we know a wall is made." (Ricky)
Ricardo grabs him by the shoulders.
"What'd you say!"
Everyone in the room became alarmed except for Ricky. They all know something about this.
"Earth walls are appearing from the enemies side. Sometimes soldiers die with small holes on them which are too small for a bullet. They are doing something that looks like magic."
At the mention of magic, everyone in the room becomes tense.
"Leave Ricky." (Ricardo)
The young man still had more questions that were unanswered but he decided best to not ask now so he left without saying a word. After they are sure that Ricky is out of hearing range.
"Why the fuck does the federal government have an eye on us?!" (Rodriguez)
There's no answer to his question. What does he mean by the Federal Government? Does that mean that the Federal Government has some, as Argus called it, "Magic Soldiers?"
"Have you fuck done anything that would threaten the nation?!" (Ricardo)
"Then why did the Federal Government send their Magic Soldiers here, they are only used when it's a crisis affecting the country! Fuck!" (Rodriguez)
So they do have magic soldiers if they say they only send them for the country crisis. Does that mean that they are scarce or are they too valuable to use here?
"Rodriguez-"(Ricardo)
"Shut the fuck up! I'll fucking kill you!" Rodriguez says as he reaches for his gun.
Everyone in the room also reaches for their own gun and take it out.
"The alcohol is getting to you! Think rationally and put the gun down!"
"I'm perfectly fine! There's no way I'm getting caught now! We can't beat those monsters! I'm getting outta here!"
By now everyone is pointing the guns at each other. They look ready to shoot at the smallest sound. This is my chance! Before the tension dies down I can use it. I grab my gun and point it towards the room at one of the henchmen. If I do this I can most likely guess what will happen next.
*Pam*
I shoot the first shot hitting one of the subordinates in the arm. With that one shot started the carnage inside the room. I'm still not used to the idea of killing people so I'd rather not do it directly. If my actions somehow lead to someone dying then I don't have much a problem, as long as I intended it, for now at least.
*Pam* *Pam**Pam* *Pam*
Shots are fired one after another inside the room. The people guarding the hallway heading towards the direction of their bosses. Peter shoots two of them down from behind and they fall down. The last one takes cover behind some furniture.
"Too bad you aren't hiding from me," I say I point my gun and shoot him through the floor.
I try sensing inside the room again. According to what I can sense there's one person alive with a couple of bullets grazes, three on the verge of death and the rest are dead. The one person alive is Ricardo the other in critical condition are just some henchmen and Rodriguez is dead.
I break through the floor. This time I make sure to enhance protect my hand, which made it more difficult...now is not the time to go off on a magic tangent.
I jump down to see Peter moving to where I was.
"I thought you said you wouldn't let it devolve into a gunfight."
"A chance was given to me and I took it, I only killed the one out here. The rest inside killed each other. There's only one person alive in there."
"You shot through the floor?"
"Yes, but that's not important right now. We should kill this last person and get outta here."
"Anyone important alive in there?"
"Just someone by the name of Ricardo."

Grasshopper_sensei This chapter made me realize something. If I'm going to use a place later on in the story I should definitely describe it in more detail. I don't describe things with too many details but I guess I should if I deem it important I guess.
