Chapter 40: Naked Hero

"Let's duel," Plink announced with misplaced bravado.

So, he'd been reinstated from suspension, and now he'd returned with a vengeance—quite literally. He stood before me with a bag crammed with who knew what, presumably weapons. But that wouldn't bother me; I was confident that between my mana crystals and various techniques, I'd have no trouble handling him.

"You've got no money, so what're you putting up as stakes? Don't go saying 'bonds' now," I smirked.

"My honor is on the line!" he spat back.

"I have no need for that. How about this? Loser does a lap around the campus…naked."

"Fine! I'll make sure they slap the 'pervert' label on you!"

The crowd gathered, half-expecting the usual antics, but the prospect of seeing Plink humiliated seemed to draw in even more spectators than usual.

"Then, let the duel between Raido and Plink commence!" announced the familiar voice of our teacher-referee.
