Chapter 21: Chapter Twenty One
Masamune enjoyed every bit of pampering his wife, gently drying the strands of her luxurious hair.
Kagura observed him from the mirror before her, her golden orbs tenderly concentrated on his handsome profile.
She did not know what good she did in her past life however she is thankful to have met him, slowly but eventually he became the light of her life. In a period where she was at her lowest and felt like giving up, he was there for her at every crook and turn.
He was always the first to initiate conversation, contact, the first to make her smile and bring out emotions in her she was not aware she even had.
His sincerity touched her.
He is so good to her sometimes she wonders if she is worthy of such happiness, he has brought so much light in her life that the shadow of her past seems like just an illusion.
She can barely recall what her life was like before she met him, all the unpleasant memories she had were replaced by the warm memories of their time together.
She has absolute faith in Masamune and her grandfather, so she willingly entrusted her life to him and her grandfather.
Now that they had a chance of curing her ailment she was given a new ray of hope. Her hopes for a long lasting future with Masamune and her new found family bloomed deep within her heart. A heart warming smile graced her picturesque features.
Once Masamune braided her hair she took the chance to take him by surprise while he was distracted. She mischievously hooked her arms around his neck and pecked his cheeks lightly. The curve of her lips revealed her satisfaction with his reaction. She found the sight of a blushing Masamune very endearing. How can her husband be so cute.
Ah. His wife has become more bold as the days passed and he loved every bit of it. Masamune let her feel triumph as a thought popped into his mind, a shallow smirk adorned his face.
Kagura was startled when he suddenly lowered his head so that both their foreheads were touching. "Kagura" his mellow voice reached her ears. She, Kagura, was truly weak against her husband. He only called her name yet her heart was beating abnormally anticipating his next words.
"What?" she played it off coolly, trying to calm her irregular heart.
Masamune's eyes were filled with love, happiness and patience as he whispered audible enough for her to hear clearly,
"I, Naoyuki Masamune love you, Fuji Kagura"
"No...that should be Naoyuki Kagura" he corrected.
Kagura felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and warmth from these words, she knows he loves her but somehow hearing it come directly from his mouth makes her feel extremely content.
"I, Naoyuki Kagura love you, Naoyuki Masamune" she beamed a bright smile in return to Masamune who was evidently elated.
It is puzzling how much happiness one can feel when staring into their lovers eyes and seeing themselves reflected in their eyes. She wanted to look into his eyes for eternity if she could...
