Cracking my neck and back, I forced myself to sit up straight, my eyes re-calibrating themselves as I managed to reacquire my bearings.

Filing my personal feelings at the back of my mind for later, I trained my eyes on my concerned sister. Lise was rocking a completed set of armor, with a rifle slung onto her back as she stood in front of me. That was strange. Were they conducting drills again?

"W-What's wrong, Lise?" I yawned as I felt my joints crack with relief from each twist that I made.

"Some of the guards we put near the Dezimal door heard movement from the other side."

I paused mid-stretch as a metaphorical bucket of ice-cold water washed over me. My eyes widened at the information. "Come again?"
