Chapter 42: The Agreement

Siverra stood amidst the destruction he had just caused, admiring the chaos that lay before him. The once-beautiful city was now reduced to rubble, the buildings crumbled and the streets torn apart. It was a sight to behold, and Siverra couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. But then, out of nowhere, he felt a chill run down his spine, causing him to shiver uncontrollably. He knew that feeling all too well - it was the feeling of someone watching him, someone who posed a threat. In a desperate attempt to find the source of his unease, Siverra used his magic to scan the area for any signs of mana. "Who's there? Mana detection!" he called out, his voice filled with fear and urgency. "You won't be able to see me with that garbage magic. I need to talk to you. Now," a voice said coldly. Siverra's heart skipped a beat as the voice spoke. He tried to locate the source of the voice, but he couldn't see anyone. The fear began to consume him as he realized that he was dealing with a powerful adversary. "Who are you?" he managed to stutter out, his body trembling with fear. "Oh...you know," the voice replied cryptically. "Just one of the 10 great masters of the continent you just destroyed." Suddenly, the voice manifested into a person, and Siverra's worst fears were confirmed. The tall figure was cloaked in purple, and he radiated a purple aura of chaos. He held a staff that looked ancient and powerful, something that only a god could wield. Siverra couldn't believe what he was seeing. As an undead, he had seen many things that defied explanation, but this was something else entirely. The figure before him was something out of a nightmare. "You...great master? What?" Siverra stammered, his mind racing. "Enough questions. I need you to do something...I won't take no for an answer," the being said, getting closer to Siverra. He could see the deep purple eyes filled with fury that the being was restraining. "You see, I'm close to ascension. Because of this, I can't involve myself with small matters anymore...but you...you can be my guy," the figure said calmly. Siverra was at a loss for words. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was terrified of this powerful being, and he had no idea what the figure wanted from him. "There's a certain...lich that's been bothering me. Recently he got weaker...weak enough for me to not be able to involve myself with...you get what I'm saying?" the figure asked, placing his hands on Siverra's shoulders. Siverra just stared at the figure, feeling like a deer in headlights. The figure shook him, causing him to jump as if he had just woken up. "Yes...I'll try to...take care of it," Siverra replied, his voice filled with exhaustion. "Good...I'll keep the other masters off of you for now. Best complete it in a month! See you then..." the figure said before disappearing into a purple vortex, leaving Siverra to his thoughts. As Siverra stood there, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He had just made a deal with a being of immense power, and he knew that there was no turning back now. He had to complete the task that the figure had given him, or he would face the consequences. "One month, huh? I better get started then," he thought to himself, still shaking. He knew that he had to act fast, or his life
