Chapter 14: New clothes

After five minutes of Abigale asking what happened, Alan had time to check what had changed. There were no changes to his power, essence, appearance, organs, or anything else. The only thing that changed was his clothes. He had been wearing the same long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and military boots, all dyed red blood since he left the lab. Any holes or cuts would be sewed back up by Abigale since she learned how to sew when she was in the lab.

And while before you could see the stitches, or feel the difference in texture where a hole had been patched, now it was one clean continuous cloth. There weren't even hems at the shoulders or the bottom of the shirt, the same for the pants. As for the boots, there were also no stitch lines, but it looked like the different materials just seamlessly merged with one another.

Last was the biggest change, he could freely control his clothes as if they were a part of his body, even changing their shape or texture, even their color to a certain extent. That was 2 hours ago and Abigale was currently looking at a him in his new clothes.

After learning that Alan could change his clothes freely, her mission immediately became convincing Alan to change his outfit, something that was surprisingly easy. The only reason that Alan still wore the clothes from the lab was because they fit him and were easy to fight in. Now that he could change his clothes to best suit him, there was no reason not to.

During the two hours, Alan learned two new things about his clothes. firstly, his clothes had a 'set max amount' which was how much total material he could use at once, this amount was how much metiral he was wareing before the change, any material cut off from the greater mass would be unusable and would disappear shortly after, but he could use essence to create more mass allowing him to effectively repair his clothes and add more mass whenever he wanted.

An example of this was say he had 100 mass, and he used 70 to make his new outfit, if thirty of his outfit's mass was cut off his max mass would be 70 and his outfits would be 40. But he could use the thirty from his max mass and use it to repair his outfit back to 70, using his entire total mass. It was a bit more complex than that but this was explanation enough.

The second thing he learned was that he could 'augment' his clothes with the different parts his mark eats, the red circle on his hand. Such as using the hide of the rino bull as leather, or some other creatures' bones as buttons.

Currently, Abigale was looking at Alan and his new outfit up and down. His long-sleeve shirt had been replaced with a mix of a tuxedo and a butler uniform, with the main color being black and red. The inner shirt was made from the cloth version of an alloy of the Rino Bulls leather, and the silk of a large spider he absorbed yesterday, this made it incredibly tough while still flexible and breathable its main color was black but there were occasional red highlights.

The outer coat was once again made with the cloth alloy but with the added mix of fur from the stealth cat that was able to hide in the shadows, this gave the same property to the coat, causing the shadows to 'wrap around it' and obscure alan, the buttons where made from the bull's bones. It was red with black highlights to complement the inner shirt. The jeans were the same as the inner shirt, basic cloth alloy, and the same color, nothing too fancy.

The shoes were made of three different materials, the socks were from an alloy of silk and the wool of a fire-breathing goat he had absorbed last week, ,akeimg them durable, and were a plain white. The shoes themselves were made from a mix of the bull's leather and the hide of a weird lizard that hid in a small pond in one of the nearby parks, this made them durable and waterproof, while the base of the shoes was made of a mix of the spider legs and the bull's hooves, for a tough and durable base while also having plenty of grip.

Lastly, there was a new addition to his suit other than the coat, he now had a pair of black fingerless gloves made from the spider's silk with knuckles made out of the rino bull's horns.

All in all, Alan looked like a blend of a vampire Nobel and a butler from hell while also having a completely free range of movement for combat. While Alan was doing some stretches just to make sure he could move fine in his new outfit, Abigale was whispering to Hela,

"I think we made him too handsome if he gets any hotter I'm gonna get a nosebleed. I knew he was perfect but this is too much." looking down at Hela she nodded her head in agreement while looking at Alan, "Hey, he's mine. Don't you dare try and take him."

"What are you talking about?" startled Abigale looking up to see Alan looking down at her. "nothing." tilting his head to this side Alan said, "Are you sure?" "yes, I'm sure. I was just talking to Hela about some things." "ok, we will stay here for the night then move on to the breach that all these animals are coming from to close it and take the bloodstone."

"sounds fun, hey I just realized you could probably turn your coat into a sword, can't you? There wouldn't be a problem with the size of the sword and you would be able to repair it whenever you wanted. So why don't you use the great sword bloodstone?"

Thinking for a second Alan said, "Hmm, I will try using a sword for the next few fights. But for now, I will continue to study how the bloodstones work." hearing this Abigale asked, "What sword would you use?"

Thinking for a second Alan answered, "With my height and strength, a great sword would work, it would also pair well with the bloodstone, but my fighting style also needs speed and flexibility so a short sword or dagger would work there, but then the bloodstone would have no effect. I could also use a bastard sword or long sword but they have no benefits. I could also see if I could use the expertise from the Bloodstone and apply it to other swords."

Hearing this Abigale whistled, "I didn't realize so much thought went into choosing a weapon." Alan turned towards her before saying, "Of course, the thought goes into choosing a weapon, what idiot just goes and picks up a random weapon expecting it to be perfect for their build and fighting style?"

It's difficult trying to give Alan some kind of emotion while still making it seem like he is emotionless, sorry if it seems unnatural. If you feel like you have any advice or questions feel free to put them in the comments. Thank you
