Chapter 40: Soulweaver Leech

At the revelation of the parasite being the infamous Soulweaver Leech by Lawrence himself, Emma was even more horrified. Her expression was a mix of fear and astonishment, clearly not expecting such a parasite to exist here.

"How did this parasite even enter the border of the Tatum Kingdom?" Emma was dumbfounded. 

Other regular people might not know of the terrifying thing that this little parasite could do, but knowledgeable people like her knew just how deadly the consequences would be if this Soulweaver Leech spread all across the kingdom.

"I'm glad you also understood the implication behind this discovery, Emma." Lawrence was pleased with her reaction.

"So, I supposed you wouldn't charge me the fee of requesting you to find the people behind this, right?" He added, trying to be sneaky with his attempt not to pay.

Truth be told, he was really dirt poor, especially with how much of a spendthrift he was in the past.
