Chapter 55: 53
I was forced to make a few concessions in order to convince Shanna to agree. I underestimated the woman but it wasn't all bad the deal was more fair than my original proposal. I tried to various underhanded business techniques but she was able to counter most of them on her own but with the help of her advisors she baseless and underhanded arguments of her own. She claimed cultural differences as her reasoning when I inquired about her tactics which allowed me the same privilege to an extent but as we were in her lands I didn't go too far.
She didn't hold any grudges after the negotiations were concluded in fact seemed elated. Apparently she liked the idea that I was treating her and her people as equals rather backwards savages as others have whether they did so intentionally or not. My advantage was that I was utterly indifferent. Whether someone lives in squalor or in wealth I would treat them the same as to me they are the same. As long as I could put them to use I could careless how they lived my own benefit was all that matters to me.
In order to help solidify them into my faction as allies I promised to keep in contact and aid them in their time of need. I even went as far as to help establish trade agreements on their behalf with other friendly nations. Using this I intend to link the Savage lands with Kahndaq as both were steeped in mysticism. As Black Adam already declared himself a staunch ally to my cause he would sway them closer to me.
I couldn't afford to continue messing around globe hopping. I needed to return to Gotham as there were only two days left before I needed to meet with Emma Frost. If I wanted time to call M'Shen and her apprentices back to help me claim my seat they would have to return by tomorrow at the latest. Which meant that I needed to call my lovely girlfriend Natasha. Knowing M'Shen's reputation she probably has already created a list of all possible moles within Shield. Without any fanfare I called Natasha after dropping off Luka and the vibranium.
Cortana: Master miss Romanoff is here to see you
"Let her through then"
I was already in the living room watching the news about Batgirl, Nightwing, and Blue bird Capturing Kraven the hunter after he took down Batman and Robin. They were both still alive just in really bad shape but would make a full recovery thanks to Justice League HQ for their secret super tech or magic.
Natasha: So I hear that you are married so am I just the other woman?
"I told you before about how I would create a harem, so no you wouldn't be. It should also be clear to the public as I did an interview with Vicki Vale explaining my culture"
Natasha: That is another thing I been meaning to ask about are you dating Vicki Vale?
"No, we have sex sure but there is no significant bond there if she wants something more she would need to earn it. Unless she chooses to give herself to me as a slave"
Natasha: Oh someone as famous Vicki isn't qualified? Then should I be worried about my chances? (She says sarcastically)
"No, you meet the requirements to be a concubine so you need not worry"
Natasha: Besides that what is the other reason you called me here?
"I am sure you know but I'll say it anyway, I am calling M'Shen back so Shield can begin doing a deep cleaning"
Natasha: And why are you calling her back so soon are you certain that they have all the information we need?
"She would have had it days ago but was mostly training her subordinates to do so themselves or wait for orders to kill all targets"
Natasha: And why weren't we informed about this?
"Because you didn't need to know but now I need her for another personal mission so I have to pull her."
Natasha wanted to know what this particular mission was but as I was reluctant to share she didn't pursue it. We spent the rest of day relaxing together mostly to keep up the pretense of dating. She asked about my wife and our relationship and mentioned she was focused on her research.
