Chapter 54: Short stay

"She's asleep now, Your Highness," Lea reported to Evan upon arriving at his study. He was sitting in a chair as he read one of the papers on his table while Bastian stood beside him.

Evan nodded without glancing at her and said, "Alright. Thank you, Lea. You may go." The maid immediately left the room.

Evan handed the paper to Bastian, saying, "Give this to Albert and tell him to look into this matter."

Bastian nodded and said, "Yes, Sir." And he headed toward the door and left. Evan was left alone in the study as he leaned back and sighed. He pinched he pressed his temples with his eyes closed.

He stayed like that for a moment and heard a knock.

"It's Gilbert, Your Highness."
