Morgan healed quickly and the next week he asked Chase to accompany him to the city again. Chase had agreed after a brief contemplation, remembering how Morgan had gotten him the necklace he’d been eyeing.
Morgan had agreed to ease up on his courting so it probably wasn't likely that he’d do another grand gesture like that again but Chase was still a little nervous about it. He liked Morgan but he was still very new to having those feelings.
They sat down to eat breakfast together after Morgan had insisted that he make breakfast for the both of them rather than having Chase help. Chase couldn't help but think back to when he was younger when he looked at his plate.
Morgan had made blueberry pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon but the part that reminded him of his childhood was the cheesy smiley face drawn with whipped cream. He must've been making a weird face because Morgan chuckled from across the table.
“I hope it's not too much,” he said, drawing Chase’s attention.
